I tried the dental bands. Slight differences in band thickness made some keys too stiff to strike. It was a hassle opening the hood (poping off keytop) to change a belt (band) each time I noticed the next offensive stiff key. I didn't have the patience to keep working toward balanced stiffness across all keys so I took them all off. Perhaps if you can get bands that have little variation in thickness you can avoid the problem I experienced.
