That "is" an interesting experience.  I don't have a technical answer for you
but will say that unless this happens again don't repair it just yet.  It's
best to repair things when it's easy to duplicate the error.  Trying to
reproduce a happened-once item is costly.
 
Now to the "why" your keys froze and why they work again: It could have
something to do with the reinitializing process the computer goes through each
time you turn it on--using the regular on/off switch on the right hand side.
Exactly "what" gets initialized and what it all means is not my field.  Tracy
Allen could enlighten you in that area.  Bottom line, though, is just work with
it and note anything out of the usual, i.e., what you were doing,
stroke-by-stroke, etc.  That level of detail usually helps the tech diagnose
the cause.
