---- The National Guard, huh? Alright... way to go!!! I was Navy back in the late '60 to early '70's. All the services are the same in some ways, and different in others. I highly suggest that you dissown life as you know it during boot camp (6 to 8 weeks). You will not have time to compute and they will not allow you to have your computer with you. Besides, you "need" to concentrate on the social conditioning training. It's VERY IMPORTANT that you learn to take orders. Remember, you join the service to FIGHT! There is NO OTHER REASON TO BE THERE! PERIOD! Read the contract and believe the words. When you are enlisted, your butt is ours to do with as we please, i.e., cannon fodder. After boot, you will be assigned to regular duty. There, you may have "things and stuff" but must conserve. Your Model T computer will fit your "highly confined" living quarters nicely. Duty is not just an adventure, it's a nighmare, dude! (grin) When you survice ... and you will ... you will have advanced in many ways. After you settle back into life, you can return to HAM issues and Club 100. We'll be here... you can bet on it, pal. -Rick- PS: If you just happen to get stationed in CA, in the San Francisco Bar Area, and just happen to need a lift someplace ... in a hurry ... give me a call. That Model T roadster, pictured in the catalog, will hit 60 mph in 5 seconds flat. Yeah ... that's transportation with a capitol T !
