Subj: M100 DEDICATED CONTROLLER

HELP I am new to the Model 100 and I'm trying to use it as a dedicated
controller. I developed some circuit boards for another project and I am
trying to use them with the M100. I'm using the bar code port for a serial
input but I need to pulse the signals to my input board inbetween each read
cycle . I thought about using the cassette port but I don't know how to get
around the interface. Thanks in advance for any help.

1. Is it possible to latch the printer port pins individually ? If not
directly is there an interface that you know of that will allow me to work
around this.

2. Do I have to use a PLL to interface with the cassette port. If so, how do
I build this. If not how.

3. I'm also very interested in the R.S. 232C port and need any info
available on direct access to that port. Book suggestions are helpful.

4. The chip on the input board that I have to communicate with is a 4014 it
has no brains but if you feed it exactly what it needs it works very well.

Note: I am self taught and that probably means I have a lot of gaps where
knowledge should be but if you can explain it I can do it. Thanks again Harry
