Yeah! I know from where you speak. The "cost" of long distance calls requires
lots of thought. Too bad I can't share in AT&T's revenue.

Minimizing long distance costs is at the heart of my study. The "cost" is much
of the fear. It's that which, coupled with other factors, limits BBS use.
Yes, lots of folks are online. Most, according to my preliminary study, use
low cost commercial services (Prodigy) or no to low cost local BBS systems.
Those using costly systems have to limit their use or pay the price. For the
non-commercial information provider, like Club 100, the cost of long
distance--again, coupled with other factors--limits our ability to reach out
and serve. Club 100 can not continue to do mass-mailings to the entire
membership, and magazine advertising, and, and, and... forever. The physical
costs will end up eating us out of house and home. All is well, now, but what
about next year, etc.? I've got to develop some, trick method that will ease
the costs, enabling more folks to participate, and for us to reach out bigger
and better. It's a simple concept. -Rick-
