Elwin: I understand about going between a TPDD and a TPDD2. POWR-DOS was never
upgraded to work with the TPDD2. However, TS-DOS does just about everything
you mentioned, including direct drive access from within TEXT and BASIC.
Furthermore, TS-DOS will access both a TPDD and a TPDD2; should you happen onto
an old TPDD one day. In any case, I suggest the ROM version since it uses no
RAM to operate--assuming, of course, that you are not using a ROM right now.

There is no automated backup from TPDD to TPDD2 utility that I know of. The
fastest method of converting TPDD disks to TPDD2 is via Lapdos II running on a
DOS computer. I could do the transfers for you for a few bucks, let's say $1
per disk, assuming you supply the disk, or $1.50 if I supply the disks and have
to format them, too.

Yes, there are better telcom programs in our online library, i.e., XMDPW6.100
and .DOC would be something worth looking into. However, there is no "simple"
direct-to/from-disk method for online down/up transfers to the BBS. There "is"
a program, just invented by James Yi or Texas, that requires a switch box to
operate. Our librarian, Robert Benson, knows about this program and can advise
you about its operations.

Hope this helps... -Rick-
