Regarding programming for the WP-2. Seems there's an easy way to enter Z80 assembly code into a WP-2 for processing. I just received this message by fax from member, Peter Schroth. Check this out. He states as follows: ----- Rick: Here is the program I was welling you about last week: 50 52 00 01 00 AC 00 00 CD 05 AC 18 4D CD 1E 01 AF CD 0F 01 3A 36 8E 67 2E 00 3A 3A 8E 1F CB 1D 3A 37 8E 1F CB 1D 1F CB 1D 3A 38 8E 1F CB 10 A8 1F CB 1D CB 18 CB 1D 3A 36 8E 3C 1F CB 1D 1F CB 1D CD 40 01 3A 3C 8E 32 E4 AC 3A 3F 8E 3C 07 07 47 3A 40 8E 3C B0 32 E5 AC C9 CD 00 01 28 48 CD 03 01 7D E6 03 7C 28 25 FE 08 28 12 FE 2D 20 37 7D FE 01 20 32 F7 01 D3 44 CD 05 AC 18 29 7D E6 03 FE 02 C4 4C 01 3E 01 CD 0F 01 AF C9 FE 0D 20 13 3A E5 AC 47 3E 0D CB 40 C5 C4 D8 AC C1 3E 0A CB 48 28 03 CD D8 AC CD 49 01 28 AE FE 0D 20 13 3A E5 AC 47 3E 0D CB 50 C5 C4 C0 AC C1 3E 0A CB 58 28 E4 CD C0 AC 18 DF CD 33 07 FE 11 C8 FE 13 C8 CD A3 01 2A 57 83 E5 CD DE 23 F1 32 58 83 C9 67 CD 46 01 3A E4 AC B7 C0 7C 18 DC 00 00 00 00 44 54 45 52 4D 1B 4D 69 6B 65 20 4B 6C 61 72 1A Isn't this unbelievably easy? You simply load it into the WP-2 like any other file. I used WP2DOS Plus and your cable. It shows up in the directory with a .DO extension but that doesn't matter. You highlight it and press RUN (<F2>7). That's it! This is a simple dumb terminal. I set up my PC with pcANYWHERE and wired the machines together with your cable. You can toggle to SETUP (<F2>-) to match the parameters. (<F2>Bksp) hangs up and exits. (<F1>Bksp) exits without hanging up. The last 16 bytes spell "DTERM Mike Klar" and his CompuServe address is 71311,3076. The program is called dterm.cmd and can be found in the WP-2 support section of the Tandy forum on CompuServe. ----- Okay all you x-Z80 programmers out there. Let's get cracking. I will market whatever you write that works. Write "anything" you think you can write, i.e., games, utilities, spreadheets, schedulers, calendars, etc. Don't ask me what to write... just write stuff... lots of stuff. Here's a tip. There used to be a GREAT Z80 magazine called 80 Micro. They published all sorts of code over the years and always had a Z80 machine language column. Perhaps you can adapt something to run on the WP-2. Good luck... -Rick-
