Excellent first opinion about Port Chicago's Loading Dock. At the moment, it's a general purpose board. That, in itself, may be many focuses to many people--it's all a matter of promoting this feature or that feature. Unlike single-purpose boards, PCLD is "first" a shopping service, and "second" a BBS. From this point of view, the free classified advertising, the West End Shopping Mall, and the Professional Building are all with in the first priority. For now, though, these areas must mature a lot more. An example of maturing would be a shop owner in the West End Shopping Mall might attract a following to the point that his/her shop becomes a separate BBS, i.e., just like a real shop, folks come into that shop to benefit from the expertise of that shop owner. Like Ron, the owner of "The Open Door" will, I'm sure, build an active clientel who come into his shop to look around, leave e-mail and get e-mail from Ron and others in Ron's shop. Conversations, business, and interest will build "The Open Door" into a separate entity with in the PCLD WESM. This, in turn, will enrich the overall environment. So, to answer your question about focus, "you" bring the focus and thus direct the development of PCLD. Please remember, we're just starting. It's a bit sparce at the moment but that will change quickly once the marketing starts in August... including radio spots. Thanks for asking about Port Chicago's Loading Dock, Northern California's new online shopping service & BBS. A regional system. I've been working on promo lines, things to print and say, etc. If you come up with any sayings or promo stuff it's worth a pizza delivered from a local pizza place to your place, ordered and paid for from here! How about "that" for an idea!? As a matter of fact, I'll hold that offer open to everyone.
