Subj: POST OFFICE CLAIM

Just thought you would like to know that the Post Office refused to honor the
claim for the dead PCJr. on the basis that there was no external trauma to the
packaging that could attribute the failure of the unit to operate to the Post
Office's handling. The letter included statements to the effect that they were
not responsible for damage to goods not directly attributable to them. I am
not complaining. I know you did your best and I think I got something (the
Model 600) which is of more use to me than the Commodore. I think that this
should be an apt lesson to us all to heed Rick's caution to ship things via
UPS. When I was in the retail business, I never had any hassles with them on
insurance claims. I have never known anyone who received satisfaction from the
Post Office on an insurance claim.
