Subj: REPLY TO MSG #1407 (OFFLINE READER)

Wow, what a quick responce, BTW where's the chat option, don't see it
any more...

An offline reader is a program that packs messages into an archive that
is downloaded by the user. He uses a special off line reader program that
decompresses the packet and displays the messages. He can write replies or
enter new messages. When he is done, he calls the board back up again and
uploads the messages he has written into the message base. It makes BBSing
whole lot easier.

There are readers that use the QWK format (pronounced Quick) for CP/M,
DOS, and the Macs. The model 100 would be unable to use this reader because of
the compression used would take forever and the size of the packets would be
too much... However, for your long distance PC callers who happen to have
M100's (like me and I am sure there are others) it would be a nice addition. I
would call around to some local (ha ha) or near LD PC bbses to for a mailer
(program that creates the packets for the off line reader)...
