Now the freeze is making more sense to me Howard. It must be that the MFJ-1274 gets near saturation of it's transmit buffer and is sending the M100 a CtlrS (XOFF) to suspend further transfer. If TELCOM Stat is ?8N1E (E means XOFF/XON Enabled), then the M100 suspends until the MFJ-1274 sends a CtrlQ (XON). Somehow, the M100 input buffer must get near saturation also and it then sends a CtrlS (XOFF). Wonder why the M100 never sends the CtrlQ (XON) after its input buffer exhausts? Perhaps you're using Half Duplex (F4) with Echo (F5) on the M100? It's best if the M100 and the modem both use Full Duplex to avoid the problem. Happy New Year and happy packeteering!
