Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6648 (RAMPAC DIAGNOSTIC IS HERE)

Drive RD.BA around the block.. kick the tires.. enjoy Bob. It runs without any
Rampac attached where it finds a large 254-way "joint" and a "hung" sector. Do
any "trace" command and watch it draw the 254 ways to the joint.

Of course with a Rampac attached you get real results. You might be surprised
at the current "health" of your Rampac! Another amusement is to use "power
down" command (ESC key), remove the Rampac, cycle the power switch to restore
power, and then use other commands. The "trace" commands still work as they did
when the Rampac was attached (directory info still intact) but all "file info"
exhibits the I/O bus port number reflection of the laptop.

If you find any "trouble" in a Rampac, I recommend attaching a printer and
using the "diagnostic report" command (CTRLPRINT key combo) so you get a
complete picture in hard copy. The report does divert to the screen where no
printer is attached but this command is most practical with a printer.
