David: There is a chance that your old file "stuff" is partically still somewhere. Getting to it depends on what else you've done since your miss-fingering (down vs. up). If, you have all your files backed up to disk (TPDD) or tape (yucko!) you may get it back that way. However, if you did not save it to disk or tape then RAM is the only possible choice. If RAM is your only choice, then you will need to save all your other files to disk or tape, cold start your RAM, then do a cold start recovery. This process places all RAM locations into one file. You then go through the BIG file (i.e., RAM) and find your "stuff" if it is there.
