        Dear Mr. Hanson:

After catching your newsletter last week, and reading about your
complaint of dwindling membership, and increasing costs, I can only make these
observations, and suggestions:

1) I can only assume that a lot of members are like me; we find the club, and
log on. We join and download some stuff, but either get tired of it when the
novelty wears off, or we balk at the telephone bills. (I'm the latter, and I do
feel guilty about dropping out of the club, but I'm back now.)

2) I also think that a lot of our members have finally gone on to DOS laptops
and have retired their M100's. This is a pity, because I still think that a
M100 is a good peripheral for a DOS desktop. I still use mine as a primary
computer, and still plan on keeping it as a peripheral for my desktop. (Hell, I
had the thing for 10 years and I want to see if I can use it for 20.) Because
of this perhaps it's time to add other laptops like DOS,MAC,OS-2,etc. to the
club.

As for costs, I can only suggest you copy government, and either
reduce services; raise costs, or both. You might even consider only offering
free BBS membership to people who buy mail order products. You could treat your
consignment business like a brokerage house and charge both the seller and the
buyer a fee. You might even consider selling a membership directory to other
club members, so that if you do cancel the BBS, or curtail some BBS hours,
members can still communicate to each other via the US mail.

I personally hope that you don't cancel the BBS as you're the only one
I know that can suport my M100. Since I haven't ordered anything in the past,
and I have some spare cash, I would like to put my money where my mouth is and
order some M100 accessories. My wife would rather I spent it on a DOS laptop,
but tough. Can you please quote me a price on a package consisting of the
following:

        1) A Boosterpak, with the RAM slots filled with RAM chips.
        2) SARDINE ROM
        3) SUPER ROM or ULTIMATE ROM II
        4) TPDD2
        5) BOOSTERLINK and BOOSTERLINK cable.

NOTE: If any of the above is not available I'm willing to use another form of
RAM storage, or ROM storage.

        Sincerely,
