No, with the exception of getting my new passport and listening to the concerns
of my fellow brewers who have to get federal permission to sell their beer, ie
Federal Label Approval. I just cant wait for the day when the FDA sink it's
teeth into our industry and wants to study our product which has only been made
for over two thousand years, for five years when a brewer wants to come out
with some new recipie. You know old Fritz Maytag at Anchor Steam just wants to
take over the world with his exotic steam beer. (Grin) On the budget, my God
we haven't even begun to make the cuts necessary to keep the Federal Goverment
from collapse. I mean FOLKS their arguing about getting to!!!! a balance
budget in 7 years. Tell me what business, yet alone what household could have
the nerve to ring up something like 25 years of unbalnce books and then tell
the bill collectors (you and me) well will try to get our books to balance in 7
years so we can begin to think about a budget surplus to pay down our debt. I
mean do they think we are stupid. You know what T Barnum said. Well my advice
is to start stashing cash, buying hard assets and paying down debt faster then
the government, because this is one baby buster that beleives that I will not
be any safty nets when it all comes crumbling down. Remember fortunes were not
only lost, but were made during the Great Depression, ie. Joe Kennedy Sr..
Botlegging booze and buying long after the crash works every time. Anyway to
answer your question no I didn't missed the government that much. And I think
it was good for the Federal Employees to feel what you, I and the rest of most
Americans feel every day, job insecurity. Talk at you soon. Say do you know
many model 100's are ahead of mine in the consignment shop. Would like to make
an order before the end of the month, so selling the 100 would help with the
cash flow. Of course you know that so don't take it personally. Thanks agian
for your replys. It really is enjoyable to talk to others about the ups and
downs of business. Say before I forget this month's Northwest Airline magazine
has an interview with the head of Tandy, in which he talks about his affection
for the old model T. I'll try and get a copy of the artical for you.
