Subj: REPLY TO MSG #314 (HOLMES CHIPMUNK DRIVE)
Hi Terrance. I've returned from vacation and am catching up on e-mail, etc. Your broken Chipmunk drive is a lost cause. Several of the internal parts were manufactured specifically for that drive by Holmes and are no longer available in the world as we know. A dead Chipmunk drive is a dead Chipmunk drive. Period! You have two options: 1) Find a used Chipmunk still working and use it to convert your data over to some other media. You can find used "munks" on CompuServe, or via the vendors on our "Discount Vendors" list (see (O)dds'n'ends, file #15). 2) I can convert your files over to MS-DOS formatted disks for $10 per disk. The process is time consuming and most folks stuff is not real organized. Hope this helps... -Rick-
