Subj: POWER SUPPLY (M100)

I use both the internal 4 AA cells and the external 6V DC adapter. It bothers
me that I cannot switch between them without turning off the computer ('cause
if I try, all contents of memory are lost). This is because I not infrequently
write number-crunching programs on the bus that will take over 8 hours to run
(in BASIC, of course). I may be halfway through a program, when the low-power
indicator comes on. I am loath to restart my calculations, if this can be
avoided.

Have any of you modified the power supply to the Model 100, so that it is a
"make before break" kind of thing? I have my soldering iron ready! :-) What
do I do?

I have heard of the "Power Pillow". Maybe there are other power options. Do
any of them allow connection to an AC adapter while the computer is on?

I know the current behaviour of the power supply is as it was designed. I
believe that it is a design flaw; other people have other opinions. So send no
flames, just advice, please!
