Subj: REPLY TO MSG #3368 (P100 DISTRIBUTION)

Hi Rick. I'm sitting here on a Friday morning with my first cup of coffee,
reading messages, and thought I'd jump into this thread about Portable 100
magazine. I spoke to Bob Liddil, advertising director, this week. Bob and I
talk regularly; he's a fun guy. Anyway, this summer's income, or should I say,
"...lack of it," really hit them hard. Even "I" am late paying the August
bill. Let me relate what "lack of income" really means. It means that
absolutely everyone failed to pay their bill. That relates to zero income for
the mag. Why? The truth about the summer is that business is way off. It's
probably the most amazing summer I've seen. I know that business falls off in
the summer months but it never "stopped!" before. Well, truthfully, I went
from 50 to 100 calls a day in May, to less then 20, and sometimes none for an
entire day--a condition lasting throughout the entire summer. It's still not
back to normal.

I am confident, as is Bob, that things will pick up after the election. In
fact, I'd counting on it. Also, the magazine, with my approval and support, is
changing its format. It's going tabloid. And, get this, much of the content
of the magazine will be supplied by Club 100 in the near future. This means
that "you" and everyone here online will have a chance to add their two cents
to the contents of Portable Computer magazine--yeah, that's right, the name is
changing, too.

So, that's the name of that tune. I, personally, appreciate your continued
support and feedback. -Rick-
