Subj: REPLY TO MSG #7066 (UNUSED PART OF RAMPAC DIRECTORY)

The place Ron Alspaugh (of Node, originator of the rampac) got the cases from
was in Sacramento, a metals job shop. The minimum order was 50 pieces, at $14
each, for a total order of $700. Or maybe it was a bit more with the
silk-screening. The epld is "electrically programmable logic device", and is
no big deal ($10 ea) to get programmed. The memory chips run to about $35.
Total up-front investment for 50pcs $2000. I'd like to recoup the investment
in a couple of months, but it would take a tremendous surge in sales to do
that. With the parts, royalties and commissions, I don't make that much on
each one, and they don't sell too fast these days. You have a line to eagerly
awaiting customers? Anyone else, comments!
