Subj: SCREEN HELP!

Okay! I give up!!! I wrote a simple drawing program.. You know, like an
Etch-a-Sketch.. :-) And I wanted to do a screen load/save... Sounds good, I
finally find this BBS (KUAL) and see it's got tech ref files on screens!! KUAL!
I DL it... "LCD Graphics Display Input/Output Tips by Mike Safanov" Okay, first
I see the EASIEST way to do this is with the "place the cursor where you want
it, inverse it, read the memory location" method. I do this, get my save..
Fine.. Then I write my load and it's messed up.. Hmm.. So I see that I have to
do (B%(I)=B1+256*B2)... Okay.. I do this! Great! UNLESS B2 is greater than
128! Then the answer is over maxint! I get an OV error! (I have little memory
now, and this was the best way to do it.. is there a way around the maxint
thing?) So, I try the code he gives that sets up the 1921 block of space, and
saves and loads it as a .co file.. Fine... I change it to TAPE to get it to
fit.. I save.. good.. I load, and I get gibberish! I also notice that he sets
aside the full 8 columns down with 1920 (+1) but his loop is 0 to 6, which is
only 7 columns...???? Am I missing something?? All I need is a save and load
routine... PLEASE HELP!!! Oh well, thanx a mill in advance.. (P.S. Don't bug
me on only having 8k I JUST got this thing and I'm working on it! Catalog on
the way and all that.. :-) P.P.S. Are the docs I read for a slightly different
model? I have the M100.... (His own example for the first method won't load
and display the letter "y" which is how I found out about the maxint.. :-(
