Rick,

I've had LapDos for several years now, and have used it off and on with two
different laptops and a PC, all of the XT persuasion, and with a null modem
cable I made myself. I've never had any trouble transferring data back and
forth from my M100. Now that I've purchased a 486-33, I'm having trouble. Two
things happen:
        1. When I put the wide bar
           cursor on Lapdos (M100)
           I briefly see the message
           'FC Error in 0'. This
           lasts a split second, then
           goes on to work correctly.
           I should mention that this
           problem has existed forever,
           i.e., since I've had the
           program, and happens every
time I use it. It doesn't
           seem to hurt anything. I'm
just curious if you know why
           it does this.
        2. More importantly, while hooked
up to the 486 (using the same
null modem cable) I get the
           message 'No Response from
Drive.' I seem to have better
luck if slow the 486 down to
16 MHz, but due to some
           other problems, this is a
hassle. I thought I've seen you mention to other people with 386's
that there should be no problem with the faster machines, but my problem seems
to be speed related. I don't think I've ever had it work at 33 MHz, and it
takes several tries to get it to work at 16 MHz. That is, after I get the M100
in Lapdos, and it's just sitting there hanging out, I load Lapdos on the 486,
and usually it will say 'No Response from Drive.' I usually have to try
relogging on Drive P, or exit the program, then enter it again until it 'hits,'
or connects (or recognizes) the M100.

I'm using version 1.42 with programs dated 3/31/90. Is there a newer version?
Does my copy just have a bug? Can you answer questions 1 and 2? Thanks.
