Subj: PC-3 QUESTION
I received a letter asking for assistance from Anthonio A. Carrasso, Box 113, Sanderson, TX 79848. He also provided his phone for calls after 5pm at 915/345-2487. His letter goes like this: --- I bought a second hand M-100 computer and some back issues of Portable 100. I got your address from Sept. 1989 issue. Also, I got some cassette programs from old Radio Shack's PC-3 computer but they will not load. Will PC-3 programs run on PC-6 computers? If not, can you tell me how to change my PC-3 programs to 3.5 diskettes to run on IBM lap tops or can you change them? --- I responded as follows: --- Dear Antonio: I once had a friend who knew a guy who saw someone using what he thought to be a PC-3, but that was a long time ago. (grin) Actually, congratulations on your new (used) Model 100. We've got over 16,000 Model 100/102/200/WP2 users in this club. Welcome aboard. I am sure that several of our older members had, or even still have and use, the PC-3 or 6, and will be able to answer your questions. However, I can not easily identify these people. I can not answer your programming questions personally since I have never used a PC-3 or 6. Sorry! As for getting programming from one computer to another, there are several methods, depending on what's available. If the PC-3 has a serial port (RS232c) you might be able to pass it through that device. If it has a modem then via the phone line is yet another method. These, of course, are general concepts. On behalf of your question, I have posted your questions online in hope of getting someone interested in contacting you, directly. You may, however, come online and seek assistance at any time. Our BBS (your BBS) is free to use. Let's hope someone less flip, and having some real knowledge will respond to your questions. --- Hey! Any PC-3 or 6 users out ther want to contact Anthonio and help him out? -Rick-
