Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4437 (I/O INTERFACE)

The program for the on board I/O microcontroller is controlled by program(s)
written in Q-Basic. There is an EPROM on board with the microcontrollers
instructions burned in. When you communicate with the I/O board (9600 baud) it
shoots info to you. You can access any function on the board with it's
alpahnumeric commands, and it will reply with the 'state' of any switch on
board. Thus, if you can't use Q-Basic (M100), you will have to write your own
program (basic) to control the I/O controller. LIke most of my projects, I put
the I/O together, tested it, and it's still sitting there waiting for me to use
it. There was one more article in this months 'Electronics Now' on it, and
apparently more articles to follow. I still like the little jewel and I know
I'm going to put it to good use one of these days.
