Subj: REPLY TO MSG #3331 (# OF WP-2 USERS?)
I just did a quary of our tracking system and found 247 references to WP2, meaning that 247 members, listed in our base, have reported to me that they own a WP2 computer. This represents 274 out of over 17,000 Model 100, 102, 200 and NEC 8201a owners. How many online? Don't know. We have about 1000 members online at any one time. What does all this mean? It means that very, very few WP2 owners belong to the club vs. Model T owners. And, very few of our membership use the bbs, period. From that we may safely say that very few WP2 users are online. So, what's in store for WP2 owners in the future. Well, here's what we currently have for WP2 owners. To this list I add the Make Klar programming, about to be released. WP2DOS Plus - file transfer and translate to and from DOS computers. WPduet - file transfer and translate to and from Mac computers. 128K RAM Disk chip - solid state storage. Turtle Shell II - protective cover for your WP2. TPDD2 - we carry a limited supply for drives for WP2 owners. Programming - by the famous Mike Klar just for WP2 owners. WP2 computers - we carry a limited supply of pre-owned WP2 computers. So, there you have it. What else could you possibly want for your WP2? Have you purchased all of the above, yet? The WP2 was developed as a writing machine; not a fun machine. Now, if you want fun, buy a Model 100 or 102, and jump into the many, many ROMs and addons, and programs available. The Model 100 is a fun computer with tons of potential.
