I think your tape-port control idea for the TPDD is worth looking into.
indeed, the old 8 bit 8085 is limited but where there's a will, there's a way.
Or was that, where there's a whip, there's a way--a verse from the Hobbit
movie.
 
Purple Computing's Booster Pack is, yet, another item worth considering.  It's
still a bit pricy by today's standards--compared to DOS and Mac worlds--but its
RAM DISK environments really improve the Model 100/102's processing capability.
 
Now that I've raised the Booster Pack question, I will bow to Drew Blanchar,
staff member and owner of the Club's Booster Pack demo model for his input...
if only he were to read this thread, of course. (hint)  -Rick-
