Mark ... in response ... > Rick, I was wondering if there are any multiROM solutions on the > order of the Booster Pac for the T200. As far as I know, there are no booster pak-like add-ons for the Model 200. However, the extRAM (and perhaps the XR4) may give you what you need ... either directly or indirectly. Example: The extRAM snaps into the option ROM socket. It's programming (see (6)TechRef (E)ME files) allows the user to use the extRAM as either a 4th bank or an option ROM socket. The later is accomplished by saving your option ROM images onto disk, then loading the one you want to work with into the extRAM from disk. To work with a different option ROM simply disable the overwrite the one and load in a new one. The instructions for doing such come with the extRAM. I am not sure if Tracy Allen (EME systems) ever made an XR4 for the Model 200 but it's worth asking him, directly. His numbers are: 510-848-5725 voice 510-848-5748 fax Internet e-mail: 76670.326@compuserve.com > I'm also curious as to the lack of VT100 emulations for the T200. > Is it because there are unsurmountable technical problems or that no > one has bothered to spend their time hacking one out? It "is" possible but I am not awair of one at this writing. My non-awairness is no assurance that one does not exist, however. I do know ... or at least was told a few times by Club 100 members who work at the Lawrence Lab in Livermore ... that the Model 200's telcom program includes a built in VT52. I have yet to play with this feature but overheard that once you log onto a VT100 or VT52 host, tap one of your arrow keys, then hit <enter> to redisplay the host screen. Now, it could be that it's just one of the arrow keys, or a <shift> arrow, or <ctrl> arrow ... you'll have to play around. Again, I am not directly connected to this knowledge. Actually, I originally learned of the VT52 emmulation from a guy whoes sisters' boy friend once owned a dog that strayed onto the LL property and just happened to pick up a memo once authored by a guy who no longer works for LL. The memo mentioned rumors of VT52 emmulation in Model 200s. The possibility or VT52 emmulation was later confirmed by an x-LL employee twice removed ... once for vagarancy and once for larceny. Prison officials will not comment. So ... there you go ... the official word. Good luck! -Rick-
