Subj: REPLY TO MSG #647 (MODEL 600 - WHAT'S IT WORTH?)
Bob: I just got finished talking on the phone to a lady on the east coast who found a Model 600 with a printer at a garage sale for $40 bucks. She called to see what add-ons were available. She was going to have her daughter use it to do banners and other things. My basicly said that for $40 bucks you can't go wrong using it as it is but don't put any money into it. I then said that for the purpose that she wanted a "computer" for she (and her daughter) would enjoy owning and using one of the Apple Macintosh computers--I sighted several reasons and provided a few DOS vs. Mac comparisons. Her response to me was positive. In fact, she said that they (her and her husband) figured along the same lines, i.e., the printer that came with the Model 600 was probably worth the $40, and their daughter uses Apple Macintoshes in school. It's a small world, huh? Have you ever thought about using your Model 600 for something else? Like... Uses for used Model 600 computers... - door stop - gut it out and fix it up as a... - high-tech planter - small, high-tech fish tank - a radio or small TV - hang it from the mirror of your car like we used to do with dice - build it into a RC model of some sort - have it control all your home appliances - use it as a book end that catalogs all the books on that shelf Happy computing... -Rick-
