Subj: REPLY TO MSG #5371 (PRINTERS)

 Hello Richard,
      It's good to hear from you  again. By the way, I'm enjoying the  RAMPAC;
already I can't imagine doing without it. (I'd still like to know when the RAM
bank chips come in, though). With my files stored on the RAMPAC,
I was about to take the disk drive in for repairs (you'll recall that I have
a PDD2 which couldn't read the TS-DOS or NATIVE disks you sent -- it can't
read any of the latest 4 disks either), when it occurred to me that the drive
can still read (and write to) the Tandy disk containing the FLOPPY program.
(i.e. the disk which came with the drive). If its heads had gotten out of
alignment, shouldn't it have been unable to read that disk? (I'm not averse
to spending a few $ to get the heads aligned; I just want to make sure that
that is indeed the problem.)
                           Regarding printers...yes, I do have Super ROM;
I'm glad to hear that that will simplify matters, although I guess the
simplest thing would be to find a parallel printer. Are parallel printers
becoming rare? And if I get a serial printer, can I use the same printer cable?
(i.e. are the  connectors identical?)
                            Thanks  for your help!
*Anthony*
