Tim: I'm going to take the first paragraph out of your private message to me regarding your use of Multiplan, insert it into this reply message, then place this reply in the conferrence for others to read. Here goes: > Rick, > Read the msg on spreadsheeting. I must say that I am amazed at the > power of Multiplan. I haven't even begun to explore the > possibilities! Imagine setting up a spreadsheet to do your grocery > shopping. The thing fits perfectly on the basket of a shopping cart > if you use the built-in seatbelt to hold it down. Trust me, I did > it tonight. You're doing the right thing, i.e., using the spreadsheet program for typical, daily tasks, even if those tasks can be done easier or seem to simple to be computed. This point is that unless you apply computing tools to a variety of tasks, you never learn their full potential, nor do you learn how to use them at all. So, what, exactly, did you "compute" at the grocery story with Multiplan? Adding up your bill as you shop? Price comparison? Weights and measures? Checking the check-out price to the shelf price? By the way, the last item mentioned was on the news the other evening. Seems the store computer was purposly not updated reflecting certain prices, etc. Amazine, eh? -Rick-
