Subj: REPLY TO MSG #5132 (MEMORY EXPANSION)

I received the technical info, and have thoroughly read it. :-) Good stuff!
I'm gonna buy "The Secrets of ROM Revealed" by Mo Budlong, as soon as I can
find it.... I don't plan on buying a ROMBO anytime soon. Maybe after I write
some killer apps.  ;-)

The RAMPAC seems interesting enough. I *think* it plugs on the expansion bus.
[Memory? What, you expect me to REMEMBER? I'm lookin' at the papers!] But
wouldn't this get in the way of the extRAM/XR4?

The extRAM article mentioned an EXTMNU program that doesn't handle .DO files at
the time of the article, although such a function for this program was "under
development". Since the article was written in November 1990, I want to know:
what's new?

Also, although files were able to be brought FROM the extRAM one-at-a-time,
they were only able to be STORED on the extRAM as part of the entire 32K bank!
Right, the entire contents (less the alternate LCD buffer and line-input
buffer?) of "normal" RAM get swapped with the extRAM.

I'm pretty sure I could write my own program that would allow me to add just
one file.... [*thinking*] {I might have to precreate file entries in the file
directory, so that this area won't grow?  Hmmm.}
