From: ANTON WALRAVEN
To: RICHARD HANSON Subj: REPLY TO MSG# 4391 (ABOUT LAPDOS II) Rick... Whew! I
really must have shocked you by seeming to be unaware of LAPDOS II. Rest
assured, I remember the ads by Traveling Software in Portable 100, and I did
read the catalog you sent me. I know that LAPDOS will enable me to transfer my
TPDD1-2 files to my DOS machine.

However, I don't see that this will help to get my LUCID files into a LOTUS
worksheet, because I would then need a conversion program that will run under
DOS, to convert the transferred LUCID files. At present, I can transfer LUCID
files as text files over the serial port to my DOS machine, by using the DOS
COPY command, and the PRINT to COM: feature inside Superrom. Unfortunately,
this does not work well with spreadsheets wider than 255 characters, or with
almost empty rows. A suitable DIF utility (as for the original LUCID) would
solve this problem though, and I plan to look into the programs you suggested -
to help in cooking something up by myself.

I may need LAPDOS II later on, as I plan to archive my collection of TPDD1
disks on high-density DOS floppies.

Thanks again...I really liked your style in getting the message across! Anton
