Subj: REPLY TO MSG #1454 (EXPERIENCES)

Easier said than done. All of the messages are strung together in one file
called the message base. Who the messages go to and how they're strung
together in threads is controlled by another file called the messge headers.
To convert just one message I must to the following:

1) Pull down the BBS - offline

2) Get into the message base utility, find the message, then send it to a file.

3) Get out of the message base utility, get into a word processor (ASCII editor
- I use PC Write v2.71), edit the file, and save it again.

4) Get out of the editor, get into the message base utility, find the message
again, then bring in the reedited file.

5) Get out of the message base utility and set the BBS back up.

Bottom line... I don't want to do this everytime some yo yo uses ALL CAPS to
post messages. The whole process takes way too long, especially when the
message is filled with half-backed, run-on sentences, miss- and weird spelling,
poor and improper punctuation, no paragraphing. I'm not an english teacher,
nor do I want to spend what free time I have cleaning up other people's poor
writing styles. Mine is bad enough, for heaven's sake.

So there... I'm off to have dinner, watch some video's, spend some quality time
with my spouse of 18 years, throw the ball for the dogs and generally have a
nice Saturday evening. Bye... -Rick-

PS: Why don't you just reply to ALL CAP message for help by saying that you
couldn't understand wat was being asked due to the ALL CAPS and strange writing
style. Then say that you'd be glad to help if the reguest was layed out in an
understandable. It's absolutely okay to expect some resemblence of proper
writing style and consideration in an all text communication medium. ALL CAPS
and poor structure is a sign of disrespect and does not have to be tolerated.
