Subj: COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS

Several things to cover--I just received the library disk mailing. I haven't
had a chance to get it into to portable to look at it, but it looks like a good
idea. I was thinking the same might be a good idea if you have a quantity of
ham related material for me to look at. Putting it on a disk and mailing it
may be better than trying to download a lot. Anyway, let me know where to
start. I noted in your reply about TS-DOS in message 2894 that you say Version
2.x lacks file tagging. I have 2.02 and that has that feature. But reading
your review in the latest mailing, I'm wondering if you're saying a plain "T"
tags in the current version? In mine, it's Control-T, U, G, etc. The S to skip
to the command line is a worthwhile feature now that you expained it to me. I
wonder if perhaps it could/should be added to the main library menu as I bet
others have missed it. Do you have or know of the availability of DVI cables?
I have one without the cable and need to make one up, but readymade could get
done a lot quicker! I guess you could put me down as one who would say the DVI
is a worthwhile device IF you need to use your 100 as you would use a desktop
machine and you can get one cheaply. Have you encountered this problem using
Lapdos to transfer programs? I download to my Compaq portable, then transfer
to the PDD1, but many times I end up with a file on the 100 that begins with a
wierd line number like 23999, then line 1 and 2, then nothing more, although
TS-DOS says that the file size may be 3K or 5K--whatever it was on the MS-DOS
machine before I transferred it. The files look good on the MS-DOS disk, they
just seem to scramble while transferring. Finally, the new logo looks good, but
why print the old loco right above it? HA!
