Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4100 (PACKET RADIO)

Craig, I saw a message over the packet radio network from someone who had
sortware to do the software TNC function with a 100/200. He was still checking
it out to make sure it worked properly and was asking for a list of peopled
that wanted copies. I don't have that message with me now, but I'll send a
copy to you next time I log back in so that you can get on the list too.
. Popular software TNC programs for the MSDOS world are Baycom and PMP (Poor
Man's Packet). I haven't used any of these, but my impression is that there
seems to be some tweaking needed to keep them running. For my money, it's hard
to beat a $125 MFJ 1270 TNC hooked to your 100, using the DIRACC program so you
can jump from Telecom to Text to read/edit a file you just downloaded. See the
program list in the help files area for others you might want. Although a lot
of people don't seem to like them, I find a DVI to give you an 80 col screen
real nice when working packet BBS's, that give you an 80 col output.
. If you got operational, drop me a line:N9ADS @ W9INX.IN 73 and
congratulations on getting your license.
