Subj: TAPE RECOVERY TECHNIQUES

Greetings all,

My PDD2 is on the fritz (temporarily, I hope) and in the meantime am going
back to that venerable old file saving method, the cassette tape!

Have some old text files I'm having trouble recovering, and downloaded the
file TAPE.DOC from the TechRef section here for some tips. There are four
versions of what look to be the same basic program, and I am able to pull
those out in ASCII, transfer them via null modem from my PC to the Model 100,
and convert them to a .BA file very easily.

However, I can't seem to get them to work... is anyone familiar with these
four files, and can anyone recommend one in particular? Or does anyone have
some other tricks they'd be willing to share?

My tape deck is the Tandy CR-82. I can hear the "screeching" noise as the file
is found, but nothing gets recovered. ... Can't think of what else I need to
post here by way of background information, so I'll just quit here and hope
someone is still familiar with the old tape file save method!

TIA!

... Paul
