Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4277 (HOW DO YOU DO?)

This is a good conference question, Tim. Yes, indeed. This BBS is running
TBBS multiline host software by eSoft, Aurora, CO. TBBS drives the DigiBoard
brand com port multiplier. The DigiBoard--in this case, a 4 port digi--has 4
modems attached. And, attached to the four modems are 4 phone lines. I use
Pacific Bell lines with hunting. Just like in an office, when one line is
busy, the next line in line takes the call; and so forth until the lines are
filled, or someone logs off. In such case, the next caller enters on the first
available line.

A basic TBBS multiline system is actually quite easy to set up. Creating your
own, special presentation can take years; but again, right out of the box, TBBS
is a snap.

A word to the wise: Like all complex software, you must study it, and keep up
with the upgrades--in this case, with the field modifications, to prevent
errors. TBBS is very, very complex if you really get into it, but it's easy as
pie to operate, and a joy to manage.
