Subj: SOURCE CODE FOR OS
> I'll have to get Chris Morgan's book & add it to my library. Don't > you wish Tandy would release the "source code" for the OS? Like, > how much bucks are at risk at this point when Tandy has abandoned > the Model-T. Bureaucracy! Hello Ron. I've often wondered if the source code for the Tandy Model 100, Model 102, NEC 8201, and NEC 8300 ROMs might still exist dusty old backup tapes in certain locked archives at Microsoft, Tandy, & NEC. The incredible benefits for us programmers would breathe new life in our hobby. I mean, why not release this stuff to the public domain? What possible business reason could there be for keeping it confidential? Or was the information just destroyed long ago? If it were still available, just exactly how much would it take to convince these companies to release it to us? One can only wonder... Gary Weber
