Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4383 (ALPHABETIZE BANKS)

Robert: He has one of the old American Cryptronics multi-RAM expansion units.
they made 3 ad 4 bank units. Each bank of RAM functions like the built in 32K
bank. Thus, he refers to these as banks--a correct reference. Jumping between
the banks is accomplished via an option ROM chip called RAM+. The RAM+ ROM is
used to initially set up the jump-to routines between the banks, and provides
some extra features. Those that wish to use a different option ROM must remove
RAM+ and install their "other" option ROM. Once installed, you may still jump
between banks, and call and use your option ROM software in each bank, but you
lack the "tricks" available only if the RAM+ ROM is present.

The AC expansion RAM units were a nice set up, and worked really well. But for
various economic reasons, they are no longer available new. Preowned units
come to market from time to time but I have not seen one for over a year, now.

What he's asking is for a program that will put the files in RAM in
alphabetical order; that's all. Don't worry about the multi-RAM bank he's
using, just concentrate on the built in RAM. We will assume at this time that
each bank of RAM functions exactly the built in RAM; we'll call bank 1, just
for grins.

Hope this helps... -Rick-
