Electronic Access to the Consumer Information Center, Pueblo, CO In seeking to meet the needs of all consumers, the Consumer Information Center (CIC) can be reached via a Bulletin Board System (BBS), the World Wide Web (WWW), Gopher, anonymous FTP, and Telnet. Famous for its Pueblo, CO address, the CIC publishes the Consumer Information Catalog which lists over 200 Federal publications covering topics such as Federal benefits, health, cars, children, housing and money matters. The Catalog and the publications listed can be viewed online or downloaded. The following is a list of instructions on how to reach the CIC electronically. If you have a question, a comment, or if you just need help, send an e-mail message to: catalog.pueblo@gsa.gov. via WWW * Open a new URL and type: http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov via BBS * Set your communication software to 8-bit, no parity, and 1 stop bit (8N1) with ANSI/BBS terminal emulation * Dial 202/208-7679 * Follow the on-screen instructions * Baud rates of up to 28.8K accepted * Gateways available from FedWorld, SBAOnline, and GEMI via GOPHER * Open a new gopher and type: gopher.gsa.gov * Select CONSUMER INFORMATION CENTER * A list of Catalog categories appears as subdirectories/folders via anonymous FTP * Connect to ftp.gsa.gov * Login with username "anonymous" * Use your e-mail address as the password * Change the directory to: /pub/cic * A list of Catalog categories appears as subdirectories via TELNET * Telnet to fedworld.gov * From the main menu, type "/go gateway" * Select "D - Connect to Government Sys/Database" * Type "6" to access the CIC * Follow the on-screen instructions via E-MAIL * Comments, problems, questions send an e-mail message to catalog.pueblo@gsa.gov
