Excellent!  You get an "A".  Your prof is not on dope.  Take it from "this"
professor, we do not live in the a real world.  Your prof is probably tenured.
Right?  That means that he can be as weird and off-beat and unreasonable as he
wants and he can't be fired.  He still gets paid.  He gets benefits, etc.  Get
the picture?  He has nothing to lose.  Furthermore, if you are going to a
university vs. a college, your professor's first job is to do research and
bring money into the institution.  His second job is something else, usually
something like personal growth.  Last and certinly least, he "has" (gasp!) to
teach.  Furthermore, to make matters even worse, your prof's DO NOT consider
you as clients, or peers, or future associates.  They do not consider you an
asset.  You are a liability.
 
There are, of course, tricks to "turning the tables" on this situation.
However, I will not tell you the secrets to higher learning unless you want me
too.  -Rick-
 
FYI: I have an MBA in Information Management, teach 2 to 3 evenings a week for
Columbia College: Information Systems, Management Information Systems,
Principles of Management, Small Business Management.  Back ground includes, 3.5
years, associate prof, info systems, San Jose State University, and several
years in combined systems and management courses and several institutions in
the SF Bay Area.
