Subj: TANDY=IDIOTS!!!

        I have come to the very _real_ conclusion that Tandy hires only
idiots/third grade drop-outs/*ssholes. The latest in a long line of examples
may be the best.
        I recently purchased a WP-2, which I knew at the time was an early
"non-A" model. Since the previous owner, the original purchaser, had never used
it in Telcom, I was first to try it. Though hooked to a 1200 baud modem, it
would run no faster than 300. In addition, about once every 1-1 1/2 lines you
would get half a dozen non-garbled, but out of place letters/characters.
        I reckoned no problem with the well known ROM fix done by Tandy. I took
it to my local repair center, where they have been quite good with me, but they
said they had never even seen a technical bulletin on the problem. They called
Ft Worth and were instructed to send it there for evaluation.
        Not long after, I got a call from a guy there who said he was in charge
of Tandy's WP-2 problem. He then proceeded to tell me that the ROM upgrade
would not correct my problems, that I was going to have to have more work done
at regular shop fees. He claimed that the ROM problem _only_ happens in one
instance when trying to tranfer files at higher than 2400 baud, and that in the
_entire_ history of the problem they'd replaced _only_ 39 ROMS _total_. Yet, he
was _unable_ to explain how Tandy for a problem that small justified a
multi-million dollar running change on the assembly line, but that Club 100,
the M100SIG on Compuserve, Portable 100, the various prominent users I
named--_everyone_ else but hisself--_flat_ didn't know what they were talking
about, that all the well documented examples I offered him were "heresay" and
"idol gossip".
        After it degenerated into a yelling match--in which after first trying
to sell me more repairs he then said he _just knew_ the problem was in my
modem--I told him to go ahead and replace the ROM, that I'd gladly pay the $54
ROM replacement fee to be rid of them.
        Well, I got my WP-2 back on Friday and guess what? It works
_perfectly_!!! The _exact_ same modem and exact same phone line used on my
T102, T200, and WP-2 when the problem was discovered.
        I have had _enough_ of Tandy and their idiots/third grade drop-outs/
*ssholes. They are _perfect_ example of the kind of corporate garbage--not the
Japanese--who have destroyed the economy of this country. I should haved sued
them over the pile of *hit 1100FD they sold me, and I still may. I also intend
to file a healthy complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
        If you have _any_ problem with Tandy and their products and/or people,
and they give you a big rash of *hit, STAND YOUR GROUND AND GIVE IT BACK TO
THEM!!!
