29FEB92 "Reply to message #7095" YES, TS-DOS disk would be an elegant solution. I use TS-DOS (ROM) and forgot about there being a disk version. So far, I've found Mr. Anderson's CRDFIL to be an excellent addition to my T-102. With this ROM it becomes wonderfully EASY to construct a record of the plethoric "stuff" that I've accumulated through the years. His well organized manual gives good advice. Particularly, in the matter of making your template card. Pre-planning and forethought are essential. Fortunately, many template examples are provided. Here is the one I made to data-base my collection of compact discs: 9 Muse: 0 Album: 40 (B,Cl,Co,D,E,F,H,J,Po,Pr,Re,Ro,S,W) Category: 80 Record Co: 160 Market #: 200 @: 232 D/A Grade: 240 Year: 265 Note: 280 NOTE: Enter a "1" at the "@" prompt (or in the case of double-disc sets enter a "2"). When all has been recorded you can total up field #6 for a count on all your CD's, etc. Overall, I applaud the following CRDFIL functions: 1. The template card is easier to manipulate than is SAMPLE.BA 2. The resulting datafile is very compact since the template is written only once. 3. The CRDFIL program has the power to sort and extract data. 4. Lastly, I think I'll appreciate being able to read/write datafiles from the TPDD while performing sort routines with the help of a DOS residing in RAM. =Keith Ristuben
