Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4855 (MODEL 102 & MODEM)

----
Phill: Think this through for a moment and I'm sure you will notice the
problem right away. Here's what I think I heard you say:

You have the Model 102 setting nect to your DOS computer, you've connected the
RJ11 end of the Model 102 phone/modem cable into the "line" port on the back of
your DOS computer's modem, and you say they won't talk to each other. Right?

Sir, I think all of us would have a hard time communicating if we tried to talk
ear-to-ear and mouth-to-mouth. We communicate by ear-to-mouth and
ear-to-mouth. Send-to-receive and send-to-receive, not send-to-send and
receive-to-receive. What you need to do is reverse the red and green wires in
your phone/modem cable, or make a reversed adaptor.

----
Now, with that said, and knowing that direct computer-to-computer is what you
really wanted to do, let me call your attention to LAPDOS II in the catalog I
sent with your order.

I don't know how to say this other then . . . Phill, you are really attempting
this Model 102 to DOS file transfer thing the HARD WAY!! LAPDOS II is what you
want. Trust me. Buy Lapdos II and the proper CompLink Cable and you'll be
soooooo happy! But if you're not, no problem... I'll refund your purchase.

At your service... -Rick-
