Lex, Camera tread marks are, indeed, NOT desirable. They come from being one step slow when the director tells Camera 3 to truck in or dolly left. In my case, they cause a big jump in the video. Actually, doing a lot of grunt work around theatre, radio, and television sets for so many years, I just wear a tunic that advertizes Blanchar Pack Mule Service and challenge anybody else to carry 2 4x8 foot sheets or 1/2" plywood, two 6" Fresnels and fifty feet of 14-2 rubber jacketed cable between buildings. I really shouldn't have to do that any more but what do I know. I don't have any one position of preference around the theatre or television station. I can direct the video, edit video tape (from computer assisted down to razor blade paint backdrops. Just don't tell the union that I'm able and willing to do it all. -dB
