I do have an HP100, and have used HP200s from time to time. Since we make data
loggers that are in remote locations, the HP is a great lightweight machine to
carry to the field to download the accumulated data. With a PCMCIA memory card
it can take a lot of data.
.. Personally, i still use the HP95 for the phone book, memo -- in fact I use
every single built-in app including Lotus 123. I also have swiftBASIC
installed and have written some programs for it. For a while I had a PCMCIA
fax-modem installed and took it on a couple of trips including one to Europe.
However, 1) the PCMCIA type 1 slot on the HP95 did not allow for as capable a
modem and 2) the cheap hotels I stay in have hmmmm minimalist phone systems,
where the concierge listens in to every call. (Not frequented by neurologists,
unless name Frankenstein). grin grin, but the truth. I ended up selling the
faxmodem. But still I carry the HP95 everywhere. I tried the HP100 for a
while, but it was considerabley slower, both to key in the commands and to run
the overhead of the window system and drop-down menus. I liked the self
consistency and speed of the 1-2-3 type command model on the HP95. Also, my
SwiftBASIC programs wouldn't run on the HP100. Basically, I'm an old dog who
doesn't waht to learn 200 new tricks. 95 is enough! But then, I still use
the Tandy 100/102 too!!
