Rick: The Ultimate ROM II and TS-DOS work fine together, except for one, obscure feature, i.e., View-80 and the resident portion of TS-DOS will not work together. Under normal use, TS-DOS does not install its resident portion. The resident portion becomes resident when, and only if, you turn the DOS-ON by pressing the <f5> function key while in the TS-DOS menu. If you have turned your DOS-ON then you MUST turn it off before using View-80 from within the Ulitmate ROM II. There are two ways to remove the resident portion of TS-DOS from your computer. 1) From within the TS-DOS menu, select <f5> function key to turn the display to DOS-OFF. 2) Use the CALL and CLEAR commands presented on page 6-2 of the manual. Again, you MUST turn the DOS-OFF if you turned it on, before using View-80. If you DID NOT turn your DOS-ON then you DO NOT have to turn it off. If you like using the DOS-ON features of TS-DOS, and you want to be able to make sure you turn it off before using View-80, you can build a little utility that will do the trick for you. Here's just one idea: Enter BASIC and key and save the following program: 1 CLS 2 CALL32454 3 CLEAR256,MAXRAM 4 PRINT@130,CHR$(27)"p DOS-OFF "CHR$(27)"q" 5 BEEP:BEEP 6 MENU You may save this as... SAVE"DOSOFF" The program does EXACTLY what is written in the manual on page 6-2 for a Model 100/102. Model 200 and NEC8201 users must substitute the proper figures into lines 2 and 3 of this example program. Hope this helps... -Rick-
