Well, Mary Ann, I think we've deduced the source of the problem, and it ain't
your Model T.  [You ARE using the serial port for *here* as well as the
network, right?]  You need to get additional information--bring your Mac to
your house and/or your Model T to work.  See what happens.  Until we get more
data, or you find some server administratrix who'll take the time to monitor
your line, you'll likely not progress on this problem. Good luck!
