Subj: COVER IDEAS
Jon: Perhaps it's time to open up our conversation for member input. I'll start with the basics of what you've invented and what we're up to now--the final touches. First off, let me tell the world about the cover you've invented for Model 100 and 102 users. Jon Shurtleff, Common Sense Products, just invented a good looking, functional black plastic cover for Model 100/102 computers. It correctly fits the top of these computers, protecting the LCd and keyboard from the environment. It attaches with velcro (c) feet on the inside corners (included). The cover includes a horizonal recess at the intersection of the LCD and the keyboard, adding to its strength, and a round recess in the upper left hand corner for the Club 100 Logo sticker. Bottom line: The cover looks good and works great. I've got a number of these covers in stock and have set the price at just $14.95 plus $2 s/h. However, I am not going to release these covers yet. We're working on a "feature" that we think will add great value to these covers. That "feature" is the inclusion of 2 large information sticker to the underside of the covers. The stickers were a last minute thought that Jon and I have been talking about. We're considering what to include on the stickers. Below is a listing of ideas from Jon as of this morning. All interested parties should add their feedback as soon as possible as we're looking to conclude this item before the Sept 14th meeting where we will officially announce this new product. Furthermore, 2 covers will be given away in a drawing at the Sept 14th meeting. Ideas for the big cover sticker... - The cold start routine. - TDD bootup procedure. - Basic commands for using TEXT, TELCOM. - And file handling commands in BASIC. - LOGON procedures for the board. - What to do when the battery light comes on. - How to connect a printer. - What to do about the stupid LF/CR incompatibility. - How to connect with a PC using TELCOM and com package, or from 100 to 100. - How to put in/remove a ROM and safely store it-static precautions. - Function key definitions for the different built in programs. - Use of the dedicated function key definitions. - Using BASIC.
