I have an NEC Starlet, otherwise know as the NEC 8500. It is a 64K CP/M 2.2
machine. In it's unexpanded mode, you get a 32K transient program area, and a
32K RAM drive. I have a 128K Ram expansion, so I can use the full 64K (about
58k transient) mode. I got mine a few years ago for $300, plus about $50 for
the RAM cartridge. I doublt if you'll be able to find the ram carts for it
anymore, and none of the other peripherals are available either, so good luck.
Otherwise, it's an excellent worktool, with Wordstar, Calc, Telcom, and a
simple database program in ROM. I have an additional CP/M machine, and have
found that most CP/M 2.2 stuff will run quite good on it, including MBASIC.
