Your questions are excellent, Richard. I hope you don't mind but I've opted to move this discussion into the public message area, i.e., (1)Conference. First off: The RAMPAC does not wobble. It's a tight, yet workable fit. It's well engineered, too. The only "physical" thing about RAMPAC that you must be aware of is turning off your computer before inserting or removing RAMPAC. Second verse, worse than the first. Thanks for the feedback on my coverage on the TS-DOS DOS-ON function. Believe me, it works!! As for building a disk-based database file, have you checked out SAMPLE.BA in the back of the TS-DOS manual? To say TS-DOS users keying in time, I've placed SAMPLE.BA in the (T)op menu (H)elpfiles. It's file number 8. Third time is a charm. Eye, Eye Sir. Meetings can get too formal too fast. I, too, don't want to blow the fun. I just thought, based on a few comments, that "a little" structure is better than "no" structure. You know, like doing a round of who you are and what you do with your laptop, then perhaps asking for problems, or announcements, or what pizza you like, etc. After that, it's every person for themselves... especially when the pizza arrives. Speaking of which, we do have one rule that everyone "must" follow. Without exception, you must keep one foot on the floor! The library disk has been availabe for about a year, now. I just never formally placed it into service. The initial test of this service proved quite useful to those who used it. However, the only reason I didn't get it formally into our service line was all a matter of getting a round to it, in between all the other things I've been planning. It's the old "time" excuse. Oh yeah! So... hhhmmm... you can't download to CAS huh? Well, it's always worked for me (wink, wink). Actually, to make a long story short, I lied!!! Not on purpose, mind you. When I initially wrote the help files, I was under the assumption that downloading to tape was possible--something about reading or hearing it someplace by someone who knew. You know? An expert? Anyway, I've been meaning to get "a round to it" for some time but tend to forget about stuff. Sure, I write things down but then I get overwhelmed by all the things I write down, and still never get "a round to it". So, that's the name of that tune. Subsequent to you and others, including Robert Benson, co-sysop, bringing the subject up, and some either ripping me up one side and down the other, or simply ripping me another ass...h... (whatever), I went in and deleted the CAS: reference. So there... I lied... and I'm finally glad I was about to get that off my chest. Wow... just like being at an AA meeting and fessing up. Well, I'm tired, now. It's almost 2 am. I'm out of here until next time. Have a good one... -Rick-
