Subj: REPLY TO MSG #815 (HOW ABOUT A DATE?)

You purge RAM like you do with bad food!? Oh yucko!

I read your reply to Tracy about using a Model 100 is like driving a Model T.
Good one. I agree, the Model 100 gives you just enough to get something done
without compromising you with fancy do-dad's. But then, being late 1970's
technology, developers eyes were on tools vs. toys. The market was buying
everything just to get their hands on. Today, flash is cash, and more flash
"may" mean you will survive a few months longer before going down in financial
flames. The resession has hit, and so too the need for "back to basics" in
computing. So, 8 years later, the "simple" Model 100 walks back onto the
battlefield like a secret weapon.

Keeping Model 100 use simple is the key to both using a Model 100 correctly and
getting the job done. The Model 100 makes you think more about the job at hand
and less about the toyness of the tool.

Ah yes, you've discovered the secret of the BBS and the conference. This
computer is many things at once. It's an information and programming source,
an archive of facts, an exchange of ideas and assistance, and a place to blow
off steam. Out of it all, the true value is the exchange of ideas and support.
Thus, the true value is in participation, not observation. Keep it up...
