Subj: REPLY TO MSG #727 (KEYBOARD COVERS FOR THE M100)

I agree with Drew about the clear, flexible covers. However, I can easily
think of conditions under which protecting the keyboard while in use is
necessary. Not knowing your intended conditions I will offer up a simple
solution; just in case the company that offered the SoftSkin keyboard
protectors no longer produce the Model 100 version--which could be the case,
giving our marketplace.

Simply cover the entire top of the computer with plastic wrap. Use the same
stuff you would use to wrap a sandwitch. It's soft, flexable, clear and
reasonably durable--for at least a day. It's also quite cheap and disposable.
If you pull the wrap down tight around the computer, you will actually end up
with something approaching the SoftSkin keyboard protector; the only difference
being that your cover will not be "molded" to fit the keys.

Yet another idea is to use a large sandwitch bag with a press'n'seal top.
Simply slip the computer into the bag, seal the top and there you go. The only
drawback to this configuration could be unwanted movement of the covering while
in use.

These may seem like dumb ideas, and indeed they may be--but the bottom line in
my mind is "be inventive." Over the years I've seen all sorts of inventive
"stuff" stuck to or around computing environments enabling the users to
accomplish their tasks. I've seen some of this stuff develop into commercial
products. Hope this helps... -Rick-
