Rick,
  You're putting too much blame and credit ot seismic activity and and loose
tectonic plates around you house (not to say there not some very loose and
shakey ground around the club house).
  More likely, the wires and nuts (which, you'll note have no  lock washers,
just relying on the spring back of compressed copper) the stuff worked loose
from warm/cool cycling over the years.  Maybe you should also remove the cover
to your circuit breaker panel and tighten all those 120v 20a terminals
(insulated screwdriver of course)  every loose connection generates heat and
takes away from the voltage down the line at the load.  You'd be surprised at
how much retightening I accomplished last time I opened my breaker panel.
