Kevin: The Model 100's LCD is a 600 baud device.  Speeds exceeding 600 baud
must be managed.  First off, make sure you and the host honor xon/xoff, and
that you match the bits and parity; especially parity.  Try 8N, 7I, 7E, 7O.
Also, most modern modems include bis calculations.  This, too, may cause some
communications problems--except that you can not turn off bis from your end.
