Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4288 (IDEA! AND LAPDOS)

----
Hmmmm.... your response about your PRFILE.DO file is interesting. First off,
it doesn't matter how you saved your file--via TS-DOS menu or via the DOS-ON
function. Regardless, it's the same file. And, either method used for
retrieval method does not alter the file when it comes back into your laptop.
Thus, how you save or retrieve a file has nothing to do with its structure.
So, the reason you can not see PRFILE.DO in the Idea! menu has probably
something to do with the first few bytes in the file. I suggest you compare
the opening bytes of your TEST.DO file with your PRFILE.DO file.

It's been a very long time since I used URII programming; and Idea!
specifically. I do not recall the structure of an Idea! data file. However, I
do know that there is nothing "different" about an Idea! data file over any
other .DO file. So, again, it's not showing up for some internal reason.

I fell--by your comments regarding Lapdos operations--that you understand the
situation completely. Sorry to hear that your DOS-owning friend lives so far
away. Lapdos II is almost a reason for Model 100/102/200/NEC8201 owners to buy
DOS machines. Almost! And yes, you are correct that the Lapdos II
distribution disk is not TPDD compatible. It's MS-DOS formatted, and thus can
only be read by a MS-DOS based computer.

Yes sir, with online library access you have an entire world of Model 100
programming awaits you.
