Subj: QUESTIONS

I am Johnny P. Royal. I am a first time user of the Upload section of Club
100. I don't know at this point if I am even using it correctly. It has been
some time since I have been online with the club, so I am a bit rusty with
even the basics of telecommunicating.

I run a small (1 man) car stereo shop called "Car-Tronics" in Fayetteville, NC.
I am self-taught in the use of my T102. It is the only computer I have ever
used. I have a Tandy Portable Disk Drive 2. Via "Super-ROM", I keep virtually
all of my business and tax records with my "Model T"--primarily with the Lucid
Spreadsheet Program.

My problem is this: on a few occasions, I unwisely used Ni-Cad batteries to
power my disk drive. A couple of times, a cell has suddenly gone dead in the
middle of saving a file on the disk. This has resulted in a "Disk I/O Error"
message when I have subsequently tried to retrieve any of the files from the
bank that was affected. My question is this: Is there any kind of program I
can run that will allow me to retrieve any of the files from a disk damaged in
this way?

My intention is to direct this question to at least the club's System
Operator, if not to others who may read this message as well. I will try to
check back next weekend for any response(s).

Another question about some of your Model T products just came to mind--or
perhaps a series of questions. Will "TS DOS" on Disk operate with "Super ROM
Lucid spreadsheet files? And with the 4-bank version of "extRAM" (XR4, I
believe it is called), is it possible to use more than one ROM image at a time?
For example, Could an image of TS-DOS on ROM be used with Super ROM? Or could
a "Sardine" image be added to the mix? It sounds too incredible to be true. I
just thought I would ask, since I have the chance.
