Transferring .DO files from a Model T to a DOS computer is procedural, not technical. You will need only a simple null-modem cable (see (T)op menu, (H)elpfiles for null-modem cable diagrams. 1) Connect the two computers via the null-modem cable and their respective serial ports (aka RS232C). 2) Put the DOS computer into terminal mode at 1200 baud, 8 bit, no parity. 3) Set the Model T's stat to 58N1E, then enter "term" mode. 4) Check the communication by typing on one computer and watching the characters appear on the other. The characters will not appear on the computer you're typing on but don't worry about that. We can talk about this at a later date. 5) Set the DOS computer's terminal to capture an ASCII file. Each terminal program is different to this regard so I'll leave it up to you to figure this out for the terminal program you are using. 6) On your Model T, tap your <f3> function key, enter the file you want to transfer (filename only, no need to enter the extension .DO), then hit <enter> <enter>. ...the file will pass from the Model T to the DOS computer... 7) After the file has passed, close the capture on the DOS computer. That's it! Practice, practice, practice, then annotate the process for future use, using a step by step method; like the one I've used here. Hope this helps... -Rick-
