---- I'm not sure you need anything special in a cable for your Supra modem. I recall some discussion years ago about having to modify a cable to work with one of the external modems but do not remember which one. I think, that if your modem has its own power supply then you don't have to modify anything. Simply connect your modem to your Model 200 with a simple, straight through cable and you'll be fine. To test your modem, once connected... 1) Set your <f3>stat to 58N1ENN and hit <enter> 2) Select <f4>term to enter terminal mode At this point you should be talking to your modem. Check it out by entering AT and hit <enter>. You should get an OK response. If you get the OK then all is well in modemland. To dial a number, such as this BBS, enter... ATDT15109391246 and hit <enter> There's scattered information in this conference about external modem use, suggestions, programs, etc. You might want to capture this info. 1) Open a capture file and... 2) Select (R)ead 3) Select <S>elective 4) By <S>ubject 5) Enter MODEM and hit <enter> 6) Select <F>orward 7) Select N in response to the pause after each message prompt 8) Just hit <enter> to start at the first message At this point, the host will display all messages where the word MODEM appears in the header line. It will automatically include messages threads. Hope this helps...
