----- Stephen: I have said this over and over and over again. The term "null modem" is like saying the term "truck." There are lots of different types of trucks in this world; and so too, null modem cables and adaptors. Your problem, in short, has to do with stopping and starting your 2000. The easiest way to address this problem is to wire the ends of your cable (each end) to have each individual computer answer its own request to send. You will find diagrams for universally-correct RS-232c cables in the (T)op menu (H)elp files. -Rick-
