Subj: REPLY TO MSG #2447 (GREMLINS II)

Hi, Tracy,

I'm responding only to the third of your replies to my many messages, but I'll
try to answer all of your questions from the previous two!

1. The cold starts have occurred in both the 102 with Booster Pak using the
UR-II ROM and in the 100 with a UR-II image in extRAM. These crashes occurred
only during or after merging comma delimited data files from T-Base into
T-Word.

2. I have not yet tried placing the UR-II ROM into the 100 to duplicate the
crash.

3. I haven't tried the write-protect scheme you mentioned for the extRAM. I
must have an older manual. I'll try it and get back to you.

I've experienced another gremlin since I last wrote. This time all T-Base
screen, data and T-Word text files had been mildly corrupted: a single zero was
substituted for the first or, more often, second character of every new line
that followed a carriage return! Also one or two file names had the first or
second character substituted with a zero. I had to use CHANGE.BA to kill the
filename that began with zero.

God's bodkin this is odd...
