Charles: I moved your message to me into the Conference for others to comment
on, as well... I am not the last word, or even the first word on BBS, law, and
free speach, etc.

I am not on Compuserve or Internet, ot anything other BBS or information
service other then Port Chicago's Loading Dock (510) 676-5359, so I am
basically out of touch on this subject.

There used to be a book published by Nolo Press in Berkeley, CA, called
"Sys-Law." It was directed at the laws pertaining to online systems.

There are organizations around that cater to this subject matter, and I am very
sure that you will run into them via other services. My recommendation is to
just keep calling around and asking sysops until you get the answers.

Yet another laywer, huh? Just what the world needs. Do us all a favor and
focus on helping small business in this country. Small business--defined by
the SBA as 50 people and less or up to 5,000,000 annual gross sales--at least I
think those were the figures--accounts for over 130% of all the jobs created in
this country duing 1992. The overage above 100% has to do with small
businesses ability to incorporate those layed off by big business.

There, I said my 2 cents for what it's worth. Hope this helps... -Rick-
