Chris: The Model 200's TELCOM program is dumb; thus totally compatible. The Hayes command set is in the modem, not the computer. If you are attempting to connect to an older Hayse modem, you might need to be in all caps. Here's an example of using a Hayes modem at 1200 baud on a Model 200: 1) Go into TELCOM on the Model 200 and set the STAT to 58N1ENN,O,T <enter> 2) Tap your <F4> function key to enter term mode. 3) You should now be talking directly to your modem. To test this, enter AT and hit <enter> . . . the modem should reply with OK. If your modem does not reply with OK then you have a hardware problem. Check your computer/modem cable (i.e., serial cable). Note: An external modem will not work through a null-modem cable. 4) Enter ATDT15109391246 <enter> to tone dial this BBS at 1200 baud. Hope this helps... -Rick- PS: When e-mailing, ALL CAPS messages come across like yelling. Just trying to help, Chris. Franlky, I don't really care, but others go ballistic when you ALL CAPS YOUR MESSAGES !!! Note: To view the active configuration, user profiles, and stored telephone numbers in your Hayes modem, do: AT&V <enter>
