Subj: REPLY TO MSG #1265 (LIBRARIES)
----- Robert: Adding something that will expose new entries in the library is a tricky affair. TBBS, this host, dose not provide me with such a utility, beyond the <N>ew feature already present at the download prompt line in the library listings. I've made a note about doing "something" to solve this gap and have two working ideas right now. One involves offering Library Catalog Disk upgrades for a modest $2 exchange basis--probably upgraded each month, or something line that. But of course, due to the size of category listings, the Lib Cat disk is on MS-DOS 3.5" 720K format, and none other. Another option would be to write a DOS utility that would develop an ASCII file/list of all new entires for the last 30 days. I'm sure this is possible, it's just a matter of sitting down and writing the code. Once written, I could have it execute each evening along with the midnight maintenance routine. In this way, the resulting ASCII listing would always list the last 30 days worth of files that were changed within that period. As I think about it, I may offer both services. What do you think? -Rick-
