Subj: DISK-INTENSIVE PROGRAMS

Rick Lopes and I have recently commented on how powerful and compact Model T
programs are. While I believe these traits are virtues, I'm curious: has
anyone developed "disk-intensive" programs for the Model T? I mean the kind of
programs that, while too large to fit all into RAM at one time, portions can be
swapped in and out, via disk, as needed. These kinds of programs were staples
of the C-64 and Apple II series.

Is there some characteristic of these laptops that makes such programming
infeasible? Or are the ROM-based programs, and short .BA and .CO programs a
reflection of the philosophy of keeping things short, sweet and portable?
