Wow... that's an honor...

 > I was the honorary ten millionth WORKS customer.

Microsoft WORKS is a great program collection. I use OFFICE on the family room
computer. I like Microsoft products.

 > Several people were surprised (happy?) to hear that the 100/102 is still
being supported by you.

That's great! If you still have a contact over at Microsoft, have them call me
for the latest details.

 > Some expressed disbelief that gates actually had a hand in the 100. Do you
have specifics, or is this just a rumor? How about the 102?

Hmmmm... guess you spoke to only the "new" Microsoft workers. The "old" crowd
knew this as truth. Rumor? No way, Jose. A few years ago, at a BMUG meeting
in Berkeley, CA, someone asked Bill Gates, their guest speaker, about his
involvement with the Model 100. Bill went on for awhile on that dubject and
confirmed his involvment. The 102? Don't know, don't think so, except that it
uses the basics of the Model 100 system ROM. You might want to send a letter
to Bill's secretary and ask that question.

 > They have gone nuts over coffee in Redmond/Seattle. It is a mania beyond my
ability to describe. Expresso machines in car washes?

Hey... everyone's into "designer coffee" right now. Yeah right, like I'm going
to pay three bucks for a cup of coffee. It's the "in" thing. Frankly, I like
my coffee "normal" and served by someone else at a reasonable price, at Ann's
Cafe on Oak Park Blvd in Pleasant Hill.
