Dear David,
The image has to be saved to an external device, because your ROM chips and
the XR4 occupy the same space in the computer. You should make images of all
your ROMs at once. You can fit three images on a TPDD1 and six images on a
TPDD2. The R2D program is on the XR4 distribution disk. If you don't have the
program, I'll upload it to you on line here. The program was written by Wilson
Van Alst. It is self-contained. You don't need any other DOS installed in
order to save the ROMs onto disk. The companion program is D2X, also written
by Van Alst. It loads the ROM images back into the XR4. You don't really need
to use the XR4ROM.BA program. That is just a menu front end for the R2D and
D2X programs. The description of how to save and load the ROM images is
described in the manual. Let me know if you'd like a summary!
