I tried many cassette write functions with no effect in the "save area". They
were: TEXT F3 CAS:ABC.DO BASIC F3 CAS:ABC.BA BASIC program statements:
OPEN"CAS:"FOROUTPUTAS#1:FOR...:PRINT#1,...:NEXT BASIC
CSAVEM"ABC.CO",nnnn, nnnn, nnnn I tried a few cassette read functions which I had
to abort via RESET button because I have no cassette drive. But at least it
exercises the cassette sinewave sensing timers and such. They were: BASIC F2
CAS:ABC BASIC direct statement: MERGE"CAS:ABC" Again, no effect in the "save
area".

If you have a cassette, try it for real after marking the "save area" and let
me know if the area shows any change.

Next idea as to what the OS might use this area for?
