Subj: REPLY TO MSG #3224 (M200 MEMORY EXPAND.)

Maybe it's me or maybe it's the rapidly cooling New York City weather, but on
numerous occasions, I've had to hot-start and cold-start my newly aquired 24-k
memory expansion chips for the MOdel 200. typically the problem begins when I'f
looking at the directories in the expanded banks and as I go from one text fil
eto another the file sizes jump around and when I go into the files themselves,
I'll find the are loaded with 12 to 15K of @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ or
"^c^C^C&^C^C^C^C^C^C". As You can imagine this gets to be a real pain when
you're writing a story on deadline using those banks or when You simply want to
store something important in a part of memory that isn't often used. I guess it
may just serve me write for buy the memory chips quickly and not waiting until
you got back from vacation this summer. I get so impatient at times and too
often I end up paying the price. As I said, I don;t know if it's the chips or
maybe they picked up a nasty static charge during installation. In any case I'm
afraid to store anything in Banks 2 and 3 for fear of losing the data. Besides
this nasty little hitch, I love the 200 and can't stop finding new uses for it
every day I sit and Compute. Anyway, if I ever get a chance to visit the
friendlier coast, I'll definitely drop by and say hi in person at the monthly
meetings. Bye - Miguel.
