Welcome aboard, David. We get new members logging on every week from all over
the country. You've asked some very good questions that others have asked and
answered before. I'll responde...

 > I HAVE A 100 WITH NO UPGRADES, I WANT TO USE IT AS A DATABASE PRIMARILY.

 > WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND AS A GOOD, SIMPLE, DATABASE PROGRAM?

This is a good place to start. Since database can get a little out of hand,
and that most database applications are actually quite simple, I recommend
going with CRDFIL on ROM (I will send you a catalog). CRDFIL was developed
with flatfile database in mind by an excellent programmer/tech, Tony Anderson.
Tony just happends to be the sysop of the Compuserve M100SIG. I sell tony's
products.

 > I ONLY HAVE 24 K. WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND FOR UPGRADES?

Start by adding an 8K RAM Module, bringing your 24K Model 100 up to its
maximum, 32K. From there you may decide to add nothing, or a disk drive, or a
Booster Pak, or both. I have an engineer who manufactures the Model 100 8K RAM
for the club (I will send you a catalog).

 > I KNOW THATS A BIG Q. BUT I'D APPRECIATE A LITTLE ASSIST.

No sir, your question is not big to me but it is important. The answers are
straight forward and simple. Just buy what I recommend and your desires will
be fullfilled, i.e., trust me.

 > OUR REGULAR COMP IS AN IBM CLONE WITH HARD DISK CD ROM ECT.

Excellent! You, and most of the computing world, have a DOS computer. And
you're ahead of the others cause you also have a Model 100--a great
combination. Add to my recommendations, both CRDFIL-PC, Lapdos II and a
CompLink cable.

CRDFIL-PC is the compliment to the CRDFIL ROM. Both programs share the same
data files. And, to facilitate file transfers between your Model 100 and your
DOS computer, Lapdos II is the number one way to go.

Lapdos II is excellent for a number of good reasons. It not only trnasfers .DO
(ASCII) files, but also .BA (Microsoft tokenized BASIC program files), and .CO
(machine language files). Furthremore, file transfers are controlled from the
DOS computer side, enabling single and multiple file transfers via the
<W>ildcopy command (*.* is default). Lastly, Lapdos II supports the Model 100,
102, 200, NEC PC-8201A, and TPDD and TPDD2 (these are the disk drives available
for the Model T computers) via a behind-the-scenes ymodem batch routine that
automatically opens the file on the receiving end with the same name as on the
sending end. All you have to do is point to the file, hit "C" for copyand hit
<enter>.

Hope this helps. Thanks for asking. When the catalog arrives you'll be all
set to place your order and start putting that Model 100 to work for you.
