Chris: Since you are using xmodem protocol (TPTERM), when downloading .BA files from this bbs, make sure the extension on your end is .DO, not .BA. With few exceptions all .BA listed files on this bbs are actually in ASCII (.DO)--character codes 00 - 127. Once you have the .DO file of BASIC code in your Model T, go into BASIC and do a LOAD"filename.do" <enter>, wait for the wait light to stop blinking, then do a SAVE"filename.ba" <enter> to save the file in its tokenized format--a true .BA file. On other bbses, .BA files must be downloaded with xmodem protocol and the extension kept as .BA since a tokenized .BA file contains 8th bit high character codes (128 - 255). So, to respond to your question, .BA files "are" coded. ASCII .DO files are not. -Rick-
