Richard, I just happen to think that when you check the Dip's settings for my
benefit, would you also list the colors of the wires [left to right] on the
three sockets, on the back circuit board and their position on the board.
Someone could have switched them around, they are all four wire sockets, it is
possible the former owners could have put them in the wrong places. Here is
what I get from this printer:- 1:- The free running test pattern: Perfect
Sample. 2:- When I set up a program in basic to write the instructional prog
in the oki owner manual:- The fonds commands change the lettering, BUT I don't
get SPACES, NUMBERS OR LOWER CASE LETTERING and CR (were a paragraph folds
arround) the printer head hangs up and stops on the left margin. This all
indicates either a ROM burnout or plugs not being in the right sockets or even
a transistor burnout. Oki's service center did call me today:- They suggested
my purchase of a plug and play (IBM) cable, I don't wish to put $85.00 into
this unit, unless I can expect to have my printer working, I'd just as soon
put it toward a new printer. $85.00 would be 1/3 to 1/4 there, what do you
think?
