Hmmm... that change in power source "may" be part of the problem; but again, unless it reoccures, your guess is as good as mine. Then again, perhaps someone else will jump in on this e-mail thread and shead some light on the subject that we overlooked. Frankly, it won't be the first time I was proved wrong... like just this morning my wife reminded me of.... oh, you don't want to hear about my failings, so I'll just drop it. (grin) Yes, you are now the second one to point out the jibberish when signing on. And, like you say, it goes away once the header starts. I think it may have something to do with the 2400 baud v.22 bis. It could be all part of the whole, high speed hand shake routine. I have not studies it out, yet, but it doesn't seem to effect communications once started. I will add, however, that I've received several "thank you's" from the members. I guess 2400 baud service was a much larger issue then I realized. Well, it looks like we're almost main stream around here, now. Perhaps next year we may move to 14,400 .22, .44, .?? bis super-charged, nitro-powered, GUI-controlled, wiz bang BBS like all the big boys. Not!
