Richard, Good talking to you the other day. I look forward to the next CLUB100 meeting, although my daughter has a 11am softball game. I'll try to make it to the meeting about 1:15pm, and see if anyone is still there. I read with some interest the CONFERENCE section. I can see I am not completely alone in being a beginner to the 100/102 world. I have been using my new 102 for text entry and editting, mostly for schoolwork, but also for letters to relatives, and the like. By day, I am a technical writer and service analyst / project manager for the local Bell company. I sometimes use the 102 to take personal notes at meetings. At work I have FOUR Compaq SLT-286 protables and a 286-based GRiD portable that have all for one reason or another bitten the dust, at least until I can afford to have them fixed. Those technical marvels of today (OK, maybe 3 years ago) can't hold a candle to the 102 for my use - primarily text entry. During the day I also provide technical support and training for DOS and Macintosh hardware and software. (and UN*X, too.) I have been in the company's training organization for almost 10 years, either writing the materials other use to train, or delivering the training myself in classroom settings as well as one-on-one tutoring sessions. I know how hard it is to deal with people who ask questions, the answers to which can be found in the manual sitting within arm's reach. It's frustrating, but it's a service that is needed by many and appreciated by most. Video and training? I don't have too much experience there. However, I did deliver a 3 hour presentation on electronic mail delivered over the company's "closed circuit" network. VERY INTERESTING. Enough for now. Hope to meet you at the next CLUB100 meeting.
