A while back, Rick sent me the following message. Was responding to him
off-line and decided to make my response more public: (am logging on from
Mexico which is super-
expensive, so will have to wait til I get back to continue the thread.)

Rick's message: "...92 is going to be a good year for us all. I can feel it.
Can't you?..."

My answer: Yes, I can feel it. When you think of the high death rate among
computers in this fast-paced world, it's uncanny the way the Model 100/102
hangs on. My Mexican friends call it my "bocho" which is Mexican slang for a
"beetle" Volkswagen. Yet the (real) beetle is alive and well here. Did you know
that? Largest beetle plant in the world is in Peubla. Just cranked out the
world's 10 millionth beetle last year. Next year's model is expected to be
emission-approved for California - in which case it would take off like
gangbusters in the Staes.

So maybe the Model 100 and the classic VW Beetle will emerge next year in big
comebacks, flying in the face of the technology rat-race!

Paul.
