Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes ... you are absolutely correct, i.e., the computer
industry is based on keeping up with the Jones and heaven help you if you don't
have the latest wigit!!!

Truth: We need to have things desired and sold or there will be no things to
desire; no things to sell.

Truth: Schools promote learning the newest technology, not older tech., or
methods.

Truth: There "are" learning aids and opportunities, i.e., classes, user groups,
books, magazines, friends, self involvement.

Gap: An unbiased expert store or service where all things are known.

Obviously, the above "gap" will never be filled. There is no tree of
knowledge, but if you think there may be one, and you eat its fruit, you will
be trapped forever in the wrong direction.

My Model 100 and I were sitting at the pharmacy at Kaiser in Martinez, waiting
for our high blood presure pills (Verapamill and Mini Press). We were happly
editing some ideas when this guy comes over and laments on how many years ago
he used a Model 100, liked it, then moved on to bigger and better--the typical
story. And, now that he's in the "know" he was "stunned" to see someone
actually using one. He didn't think they were still useful for anything by
anyone. Would you call this guy a "computer expert"? Well, well... guess
what? His business car reads... "Management of Micro Computer Systems". Looks
like we've got a problem out here called, "The blinded leading the sighted to
blindness." -Rick-
