Tracy - Thanks for the response. It would be feasible for me to buy a Molex socket, rewire the appropriate pins, and use that as an adapter for a ROMBO-based device. (Although doing this AND attaching the XR4 would probably create a very LARGE protrusion coming off the bottom of my machine - about an inch or so.) This might end up being too rediculous to look into, especially because of the physical considerations which might be unnacceptable to other 8201 and 8300 users. Oh well, it was a nice idea! You mentioned RAMPACK and DATAPACK in your message. Do you know if these were ever built for the 8201 or 8300? From your message I couldn't tell if you knew or not. How do they attach to the machine? Using the same Molex ROM socket connector? By the way, if someone is looking for a source of 8300's (or even 8201's) the best bet would be to contact Daniel Cohen at 800-338-1839. Actually, if they are willing to substitute the 8201, I think Richard Hanson here at Club 100 has quite a few he's selling for a very low price. The 8201's differences are very minute - TEXT doesn't have the enhanced formatting capabilities, and TELCOM doesn't have XMODEM built in. That's about it. If they're using it for a custom application I can't see a reason why they'd absolutely need an 8300. Gary.
