Subj: REPLY TO MSG #3998 (BAR CODE READERS)
What's this you ask? > Anyone out there have any programs laying around and/or can tell > me about what kind of timing and pulses the T102 is looking for > with regards to same? Funny thing happened to me while organizing stuff around here. I came across all this barcode stuff from way back when. The barcode wand comes with barcode drivers but no interpretation program. PCM magazine used to publish not only the interpretation program but programs on barcode. Also, folks like the late Bill Templeton and the still-with-us-but-never-online-over-here Tom Quindry wrote barcode printer drivers. Tandy, too, once produced barcode printer drivers, but again, PCM magazine was the only printed source for application programs in barcode form. Generally speaking, printed barcode listings were never a big hit--or big seller--or even a small seller--so things just never got going in the barcode market. But, Club 100 will exist forever, so perhaps it's time to get as much bar code stuff in the library as possible. As for reprints of PCM's barcode listings, that's absolutely impossible from any source, including PCM. However, perhaps, maybe, a club member with all the PCM's that included the barcode listings would offer to share their mags to those interested, or even (gasp!) make a copy of the listings for a small fee. The later would be totally illegal, of course. But you know, in every group, you can always find a scum-sucking, lizard-breath, low-life willing to do almost anything for the fun of it. You never know!
