----
Let me take this by the numbers...

 > I haven't tried exactly everything you've mentioned exactly, I have enough
evidence from what I've done and what I've read, that its the way the Bradley
server reads my Model 100, especially since one arm of Bradley reads OK (the
freenet), and the other arm doesn't.

You're still miles about the surface of the problem. You need to take a few
days off and go over to were the Bradley server resides and get in with the
wires and wire-heads. Again ... draw a diagram of absolutely every piece of
hardware and software involved in the communications. And, now that you found
one thing that works and one thing that does not, make two diagrams.

You need to discover what is the same and what is different--such as, since you
can access two different information resources through that same server, and
one works and one does not, you may assume that the communications channel from
your house to the server is not a factor.

Your comment, "The way the Bradley server reads the Model 100" needs to be
defined. Please understand what I am saying? I am really trying to help.
There is nothing more I can do from this end. Period.

 > What I'm hoping to discover from here is, based on the symptoms, something
of a technical description of where the problem lies that could be changed by
changing my settings there if I were able to describe it in some universal
terms that the folks there understand.

No "universal term" exists for this problem. The tech-heads need to "see" what
works and what does not. Then, and only then--if you actually can get to
someone knowledgable enough--can they solve this problem.

 > Talking about Model 100's is like talking Greek.

There is nothing "different" about the fundamental technology in a Model 100
over any other digital computer. Perhaps the "Greek" is more a communication
mismatch between people ... non-tech vs. tech. This is common. To meet a
common communications level you must get down to the technology level and the
tech needs to come up to the application level.

 > Using my Model 100 isn't essential since we both have computers at our
offices; its the convenience of connecting in the home rather than staying
later at work.

Then perhaps it would be best to discontinue this subject. Other solutions
exists and cost less.

 - Like you said, you could stay late.
 - You could go buy or borrow a very cheap, old DOS or Mac
 - You could discontinue using that other service from home

The rest of your message about esc-z and handshakes, etc. is wild goose chasing
at this point. There are just too many unexplaned variables.

I really do mean well, Mary Ann. Believe me, there's nothing more we can do
from this vantage point. -Rick-
