Subj: TROUBLE LOADING .CO FILES

Hi Rick,

Been a long time since I've asked for help, but have been really stuck on a
bit of a problem - think I finally got it figured out though. Be interested to
hear what you think:

I was having trouble loading a .CO files into my Model 100 from disk, the
little utility called LENGTH.CO. It does what it says, gives you the size of
files in RAM. It loads above himem so it's not supposed to interfere with
other files. However, although it would appear on the menu, I could not run
it. I would get a beep and go back to the menu. I set himem to "maxram"
thinking there might be a residue of something up there that was clashing. I
tried loading the program from a tape copy but no luck.

I'm sure that each time, I was doing a proper "SAVEM" with file name and the
start and execute addresses and so on.

Finally, as a last resort, I cold-started the computer and was successful
after a few more tries. Funny thing is, a cold-start (an unplanned one!) was
what required my reloading my favorite programs, including this one, into the
computer in the first place.

Hmmm. If it was my PC, I'd suspect a virus! Course it's been a while since
I've had to reload stuff into my Model T and I may be rusty on my technique.

Any ideas? Thanks, Rick!

Take care,

... Paul
