Subj: GETT'N STUFF DONE
Been thinking about this subject for some time, now. I may be national trend ... with its own apposing trend. You state, > Time has been my problem. > I tend to get boged down with... And I've stated things like being "overwhelmed with over committment," and other such stuff. But if I think back, not too long ago, life was not that way. Comments of this kind were not the daily fare. We have a trend here! Apposing this trend are those who just do not take on new stuff. They are, as we may call them, "Stuck in a rutt." But, we envy them for the "time" they seem to have for doing nothing, or artful endevors, or fishing, or whatever. We constantly tell ourselves (...and all who will listen) that we're... - getting things organized - making headway - seeing a light at the end of the tunnel ...but are we? Or are we not making new "piles" of "have-to-get-dones," spening more time on the "piling and reorganization" then on the "doing?" Now, to keep this discussion brief, and in contex with Model "T" computing, how can we use our Model "T"s to help us "muster" the attitude to "master" our overwhelm ... or otherwise, keep from falling into the "got too much to do to do anything at all" trap? I keep TODO lists in simple .DO files on a Model 102. Hmmm... perhaps we should call these "electronic piles." Other files have notes and thoughts on various subjects. Physically, I attempt to start each day by finishing something. Back to you, Tod. -Rick- PS: Have you considered setting up a web site for your beer business? Now that the "Internet is the only-net" just having something out there is better than not having anyting out there. Sooner or later it gets looked at but most importantly, it gives you "new eyes" on your endevor. PS: TOON-T is fixed... kind'a. Don's Workshop fixed the major damage (...new superbell tublar axle, new tyrod, fabricated new bat wings, replace the front tube and spring purch, and reattached the left side radius rod bracket). I have it up on stands in my workshop area with all the front suspension removed. I'm taking everything to the chrome shop in San Rafael later this afternoon. Over the weekend I will, paint the damaged/repaired areas, run an external new ground line (...it always needed it), clean and wax the car, and work on some interior concerns. The chrome will be back by mid-week. The car gets reassembled, started, TOONed up and ready for the Diablo Vintage Street Rod show on the 9th. Our new company, The Dock! Online Publications, is one of the rod run sponsors ... it "must!" be there.
