Subj: REPLY TO MSG #5904 (TOO MANY CALLS.)

Bill ... I have no problem with your many calls. In fact, until you said
something I wouldn't have noticed. Yes, I collect stat info on BBS operations
all the time but never actually look at the details unless someone calls my
attention to a problem. Beyond this, I don't hear modems ring, or even see the
monitor light up cause it's always blank. This is a multi-line BBS (4 lines)
but, unless I physically hit the keyboard, the only clue that anyone is logged
on are the lights on the modems. And, if I do hit the keyboard, if someone is
online, there is only a one-line display per line indicating who.

This host is TBBS 2.2M[16]. It runs smoothly, quietly, and forever. I've had
TBBS running as a BBS since 1980, and before that The Green Machine from 1979.
Having a BBS in the lab is "normal" for me ... a part of life, so to speak.

Just thought you'd be interested. Thank you for letting me know you hit the
wall a few times but are now doing fine. Your state of M8N1E is the most
correct stat setting for mirco-2-micro communications. Please feel free to ask
any questions as you proceed.

At your service ... -Rick-
