Subj: ORPHAN COMPUTERS
Re: Msg#: 6829 *Conference* 07-24-96 19:22:43 From: THOMAS MCKEAN Subj: ORPHAN COMPUTERS I share your interest in orphan computers (which is causing my family some storage problems). My collection currently includes: TRS-80 MODEL 100: Currently with 32K and "Just Ram" Booster Pak OSBORNE 1: My workhorse from 1985-1990 - has 80 col. screen upgrade and external monitor jack. OSBORNE EXECUTIVE OSBORNE VIXEN This is a really nice little CP/M computer. I do have a problem in that the drive heads are not quite properly adjusted, (what is written on one drive must be read on the same drive and not the other or a third drive) and I haven't been able to find anyone who can or will do so. KAYPRO II: (I did have a KAYPRO 2/4 [essentially a Kaypro 2 with DSDD disks] but I gave it to someone who needed it worse than I did. EPSON GENEVA (PX-8): I recently acquired this machine. I have not been able to get it up and going as it requires a battery pack, even when operating on AC power. TIMEX SINCLAIR 1000: TIMEX SINCLAIR 1500: This is essentially a 1000 with internal 16K Ram Pac and a much nicer keyboard. I also had a 2000, with color and many built in functions, but gave it to nieces who were interested in it. One of these days I will have to dispose of several (or all?) of these machines, but I would rather have them out where I could use [play!] with them. Bill McWeeny
