Thanks once again, Rick. I am encouraged by your thinking it's the stepper motor, too. Funny, it _feels_ free enough, but then you never know. I'll pick up some of that oil and grease at a local hobby shop and let you know how it goes. Know what you mean about taking it slow. These things are scary... seems everything sorta hangs there as you work on it, and various assemblies want to flop here and there with no easy way to encourage them all to behave and go back where they belong. Does _your_ low-battery LED flicker on for a moment when you power up? Mine won't do that anymore. But it does light up for other functions, so I know it's not burnt out. Maybe it'll work when other things are again working. Just to connect a little: I'm the guy whose neighbor from Madison, WI looked you up at Annie's... he was in your town seeing his daughter. Remember Ernie? You had far-ranging discussions on art and such. Also, I'm the guy who got some money back from a nefarious modem seller who was hawking stuff on-line but not mailing out the merchandise. Been a while since I've been active here. I don't need any files from your library (well, I take that back, I may if some of my disks are bad) so I had let my library access lapse. But I'd like to send in my $12 anyway just to show moral support for the overall service you provide. "The check is in the mail!" Regards, ... Paul
