Ed: I'm back... caught no fish but did get lots of rest. Downloading is easy on a Model 100/102/200. It's also known as capturing to a file. The process is as follows: 1) Get the host computer (this BBS) someplace where your next keystroke will start it sending the stuff you want to capture to a memory file (.DO). 2) Tap your <f2> function key (DOWN), enter a filename (6 characters or less), do not include an extension (i.e., do not put .DO after the filename), then hit <enter>. 3) You now have a file open for capture and are back talking to the host. Select the item you want and let it just float by until it's complete. 4) After the stuff you want is finished coming your way, simply tap your <f2> function key again to close your capture file. Hint: Once a capture file is closed, do not open it again while online or all will be instantly lost. If you need to capture something else, you may either leave your current capture file open, or, if closed, open another via a different filename. I noted something in your message that I need to call to your attention. You said that you tapped your <f3> function key for download. No Ed, your <f3> function key is upload, not download... look at your keyboard! Download means coming to you and upload means sending from you. Down and up are always referred to from the users point of view, i.e., when you're downloading from me, I'm uploading to you. Get it?! Why not practice by capturing this message. Open a capture file, use the <A>gain feature to replay this message, let the message fly by, then close the file once you return here. Good luck... -Rick-
