Richard, thanks for your note.  As I posted in the conference, a program seems
to have gotten buggy somehow and caused the problem.  Deleting that program
seems to ahve done the trick.  I am going to reload a stored copy of the
program and see what happens.  An older copy does not cause any problems.  It
is nothing more than a hospital charting program that I use at work to write my
chart notes.  Not at all sophisticated.  It appears that somewhere, updating an
envoirnment or ??? the program was damaged and began opening and changing other
files-adding characters to some.  It even added the contents of one file to
another???? How is a mystery to me.  It was just an unsophisticated Basic
program.  The Pak is working fine without any hardware chages.
