Hi, Hank,

I eavespeeked your message and thought I'd toss in my 2 pesos.

(1) When using LapDOS, be sure you don't plug your serial cable from either the
TPDD or the laptop into one of those sneaky parallel ports disguised as serial
ports on your PC! Unfortunately, IBM began a trend of further misusing the
alrady much-abused RS232

ports, which were intended for serial communication, by using them as parallel
printer ports, etc.
I've heard you can burn out or damage a device by connecting a serial port to
a parallel port, but never having tried it I can't say. Best to check the
manual and avoid.

(2) By all means, get library access. It's well worth it, even going in
"blind." By the way, your LapDOS disk contains a few programs from the
library. Check 'em out.
