Subj: REPLY TO MSG #4257 (LIBRARY ACCESS)
---- Gary: You and a lot of others have asked the same question, i.e., when do I know my library access is about to expire? Apparently, the indication of (Lmmyy) I personally edit into each members log on information, showing the expiration date of their library access is just not obvious. The L stands for Library Access and the mm and yy stand for the month and year that library access expires. Again, even though you, and all the other library access level members--see this information each and every time you/they log on, it just does not click. Furthermore, I have yet to find anyone who is organized enough to write such information down, or place it on a calendar, or in a system-use binder; like professional system managers use. At our last meeting, member Rick Lopes, Berkeley, CA, once again brought this subject to my attention. When I returned home that evening I started playing with one of the "new" features of TBBS v2.2--embedding user-specific information into online text files. I initially placed something in the log on information but that made the log on information too long. I now have it in the (N)ewsletter #3 file but I guess that doesn't get read, either. So, now that you have, again, called this to my attention, I will work up something that pops up absolutely everytime you enter the (4)Library. We'll just have to see if that will do any good. As always, I'm here to serve but sometimes don't know if I'm serving correctly unless you speak up. So, thank you for speaking up. I appreciate the feedback. -Rick-
