Hi Craig,
  Rick said it!  I'm still here and in business.  The latest extRAM software
runs entirely _from_ the extRAM itself, so no ordinary RAM space is required,
and so all access to the extRAM can survive even most cold starts.  The
software allows you to transfer individual .BA, .CO and .DO files from extRAM
to RAM.  With .DO files, you can choose any output device, like COM: or LPT:,
to send the extRAM file to, without going through RAM.  The ability to transfer
files directly from RAM to extRAM is still limited, but is easy enought to do
by swapping banks, transferring files, and swapping back.  The new software
also allows direct access to the extRAM contents with functions like a PEEK,
POKE, PRINT and LINEINPUT, and OPEN extRAM file.
