Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6269 (TANDY 102 PARTS WANTED)

I can mail you a copy of the Model 102 Owners Manual. The Tandy 102
Applications and BASIC Reference Guide, which is needed to use BASIC, repeats
application material that's in the Owners manual. I have no ready to send copy
of it, but maybe BASIC programming is not your cup of tea.

The 8-Kbyte RAM module is available here at Club 100. The "other chip that goes
in the back" is not a specific chip and none need be used. The socket is for an
"option ROM", which is vendor firmware for various applications like word
processing, spreadsheet, database, and so on. Some of the popular option ROMs
(Ultimate ROM, Sardine, etc) are sold here new with complete documentation.
These and other option ROMs also may be found here under consignment sales from
time to time. Likewise, under the "for sale" lists sometimes such items appear
but they are usually part and parcel to the sale of an entire laptop.

I've got a spare Disk Drive II and the "consignment" area has a few. Look there
for one or if none are found make me an offer for my spare.

Can't advise you about the accoustic coupler. The direct connect modem cable is
superior but only where the phone line connects via a modular connector. The
accoustic coupler is good for pay telephones where there is no line connector.
There's a sale going on now that includes some direct connect cables.

Point is this Zina, spend a little time here at Club 100 and look around more.
Everything you need is here. Welcome, and that 102 is useful for lots of stuff.
Enjoy!
