Donal: I have your information up on the tracking computer next to this bbs
computer and note that you're using WP2DOS Plus. I placed a help file on the
WP2DOS Plus distribution disk. It contains some tips. In any case, make sure
you start and end all WP-2 data files--while they are in the WP-2--by hitting
enter. In other words, hit enter to form a blank line before you create the
text of your docoment, then hit enter to end the last paragraph of your
document. I like to hit enter again, to form a blank line at the end as well.

The first enter is not as important as the last. The WP-2 does not supply an
EOF marking at the end of its files (End Of File). Thus, WP2DOS, and perhaps
whatever you're using for your Mac, can't close the file, or looses something.

Another though about your I/O Error could have to do with something electrical;
like the WP-2's com port going bonkers, or radio interferrance from your
computer's monitor, or background programs run on your PC or Mac, or a small
break in one of the wires of the cable you're using... or perhaps Newtrino's
from space. Yeah, it could be the Newtrino's... the Oldtrino's never gave us
problems, but those new ones...

That's by best shot this morning.

Sorry to hear that pressing your # does not skip the voice newsletter. I'll
bring this up to my Pacific Bell representitive and see what they have to say
about "pounding on the pound sign" doesn't work. I liked that. I might have
to rethink that whole voice newsletter thing. At leaset I'm not afraid to try
new things. Some work and some don't. Thanks again... -Rick-
