The easiest way to clear old messages (i.e., reset your last-message-read
pointer) is to simply read the last message in the base. Your message pointer
will be set to the last message in the base, then each time you come online you
simply select (R)ead <N>ew messages.

To read back about a month, simply select (R)ead <F>orward. You will be
prompted for a starting message number. Simply select a number a few hundred
less then the highest number and see if you're close. If you're not close,
simply select "S" for stop, select (R)ead <F>orward again and select another
number--plus or minus your last guess.

These instrustions are best for the (1)Conference area. In the (3)ElecMail
area, where all mail is between you and selected individuals, you simply (R)ead
<B>oth in and out boxes, <F>orward <enter>, then delete all of the messages you
encounter. That will clean out your private mailbox. I would appreciate it if
you would not delete your messages in the (1)Conference as these make up the
shared-knowledge base on this system.

Hope this helps... -Rick-
