Subj: BASIC PROGRAMMIG QUESTIONS
11/14/93 Hi Richard!!! Long time no "talk". I still have the 200, PDD2, TS-DOS, etc. I'm stuck with a couple problems in BASIC programs I write. How the heck do ya disable or "null out" any keyboard entries in the TYPE-AHEAD BUFFER??? I tried so many things and none works. Example: The program prompts you to make a selection from a menu by pressing one key, say "1". If ya press it more than ounce, the blasted buffer inputs those extra characters into the next field. So the extra "1" you pressed, say, would show up on the next input prompt screen. As if you ment to press a "1" when your asked for a last name!!! The next thing I've been trying to do is to be able to go back to the previous line to make a change in the input. Example: I'd like all the fields to be on the screen and using the arrow keys, move around and type in or edit any of them, see below; Enter name: Enter address: Enter city, state, zip: It would be nice if after you entered a name and were in the middle of typing in the address, you noticed a goof on the name, so you say, press the up arrow and the cursor jumps back to the name line so you could correct the mistake. Gots to go now, happy holidays... John Russo sp fff m jsjsjspmnbvcxz
