Well if your considering control code usage outside of the TEXT application,
then things get broader.  I think Rick intends to limit this to control codes
inside the TEXT application and the similarity to Word Star.
 
For Andre and others, be aware that you can insert most control codes into a
.DO file, that is OPENed under BASIC, via the CHR$(n) statement where n is
within the control code range of 0 through 31.  Beware of inserting the
EndOfFile control code (n = 26) because the Model 100 Op system depends upon it
to delimit one .DO file from another .DO file within the RAM file memory.  I've
not purposely inseted and EOF control code (just to see how bad things get
before an emminent cold-start because I have no interest in causing havoc.
