Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6339 (RAMPAC WOES)
I've not had this problem but I offer two things. First is that RAM100 software responds as you described if no Rampac is attached to the system bus. So it's possible that your Rampac may not be responding to the port INs and OUTs of the software. Maybe a weak battery in the Rampac can cuse this ... I don't know. I recommend you use N-DKTR.BA to survey your Rampac. If Rampac hardware has no response during the first pass, then the sector map shows D for the first sector (Directory) followed by 255 F's (File first sector), and when you press [SPACEBAR] for the second pass you get 'ERR 6 Erl 22'. Whatever you try, I recommend you try it twice: once without the Rampac attached to the system bus and note the response; once with the Rampac attached and note the response. If the responses are the same, or very similar, it indicates that there is no response or little response to IN and OUT commands aimed at the ports which the Rampac uses. Again, this may be a weak battery indication. Let me know how you fare.
