Subj: GEL CELLS
Gel-Cells are not available as AAA AA C sub-C or D. There is a size that is slightly larger than a D, and they go up from there. Gel-Cells are rated at 2.1v per cell if you purchase cylindrical cells, and are most commonly found as rectangular batteries that vary in size depending on voltage and current rating. Most common voltages for the rectangular batteries are 6 and 12, although 4.5 volt batteries are available. Current capacities vary from 1/2 A to 60 amps or more. Prices vary with current capacity. Plug in chargers are available for each current group battery sold and are available as trickle charge only or a combination of automatic high rate/trickle charge. I use a 12 volt Gel Cell with a 5 volt regulator to 'emergency power' my 102 and FDD-2. Works a LONG time that way.
