ARRRRGH! A user without a user manual! But, looking over MY copy of the
schematic (ow my eyes!) I see (barely) that the dippy switches are connected to
the uPD65002 chip that runs the motor, head, head motor, and watches the
sensors.

 DIP (1 or 4) to pin 25 SCLK0
 DIP (2 or 3) to pin 26 SCLK1
 DIP (3 or 2) to pin 27 SCLK2
 DIP (4 or 1) to pin 28 SCLK4

each DIP is held up to +5v thru a 100k resisitor but shunts to 0v when closed.
The 4 100k resistor pack is #R118 and the uPD65002 is IC #102.
Doesn't this just make you want to crack open your PDD-1 and read the circuit
board? Better yet, get to the library and read up on the uPD65002, I'll have
to do the same if I'm going to talk about it any more.
