Allow me to take a stab at your questions...

 > My question for further explanations of certain hard/software results from
trying to find a simple concise brief statement of what it does or doesn't do -
or - how many updates revisions etc - prompted by URII - orig or w/o sardine
89.95 vs 35.00.

Again, I think that much of this question (AKA what product has what feature)
is covered in The Whole Enchilada series ... except for the version-attribute
progressions. Tracking versions (what they do and don't do) is complex. I
never tracked the version-attributes of all the products, including those I now
manufacture. I use the latest (last issued) image and that's it!

 > Cleuseau versions which require tpdd to be connected.

I now ship the developers version. Period! I include the "extra"
documentation necessary for its use.

 > Documentation(full) is usually poorly worded or confusing - a synopsis would
be appropriate.

Again, a major task. I don't it want to seem like I'm side stepping the
question. Your request is a good one. I just never got around to synopiszing
each and every products' documentation. I agree, it should be done, and
further considerations should be linked to how the various features aid the
user's application. There are lose ends. Working examples would help, as
well. But again, it all takes time, and being so swamped and tired I maintain
my focus on order processing and pushing forward.

 > I'm not expecting you to do more than you currently are but possibly someone
is up to providing reasons and numbers of revisions existing.

One of the reasons I move your questions and my responses into the public
conference is to see if others will, indeed, lend a hand. It's happened before
and I am sure that it will continue to happen. We'll just have to see.

 > I'm not on any on line service and don't do windows.

Hold on ... you've mixed two, separate issues.

1) Not being online to any online services I assume to mean, commercial, direct
connect (BBS) online services, such as: Compuserve, GEnie, Delphi, America
Online, Prodigy, or to others accessable via the Internet network, only. Gee
... I guess that means the only online service you use is the Club 100 BBS.
That's cool!

2) When you say you don't do windows, it means nothing to me. Windows (3.1 or
95) is an operating system shell, albeit a good one, a popular one, and
probably the most used one for micro computers these days ... certinly not the
only one used on all computers, i.e. micro, mini or mainframe.

Thus, not being on commercial online services, and not doing Windows have no
bearing or influence on each other. These are apples and oranges. But perhaps
you mean that you are not ... a modern (AKA up to date, trendy) computer user.
If that is what you are trying to say then I understand.

 > Does M100 Forum still exist?

I assume you mean the one on Compuserve? The M100SIG on CIS is run by Tony
Anderson. I have the opportunity to have lunch with tony this past weekend in
Reno. We covered old and new issues alike. The M100SIG on CIS still exists
but it is, for the most part, just a problem-solving arena ... nothing like the
free-flowing, sharing environment of the past. Those days are gone. in fact,
according to Tony, the M100SIG was in the top 10 for most active SIGs on CIS
during the '80's. Today, it's in last place. Tony still logs in, twice a day,
and helps as best he can. He's a trooper.

There used to be other Model 100-oriented online services. They were/are on
GEnie and Delphi and a few focused direct connect services like this one but
frankly, except for this one, they are all gone. At least that is my
impression since I don't go out looking and they don't come looking.

Lately, however, I've received word of WWW pages available for Model 100
information. Andy Diller says he hosts one. I believe there are others as
well but, gain, I don't go looking. My priorities are such that I just do not
wish to spend the time gallivanting around the country looking for and lurking
on other online services ... been there, done that ... own the t-shirt. (grin)

I'd better move along ... more e-mail to do before the night is through.
