Well, Richard Hanson, I appreciate all the fine support offered on this BBS. I
have recently acquired a Macintosh Classic II with 6 megs of RAM and an 80 meg
hard drive. To run MSDOS programs, such as LAPDOS, I got a program called
SOFTPC. It works fine for most things, and even runs LAPDOS without a hitch --
up to the point where I want to communicate with the Model 100 and/or disk
drive. It seems that SOFTPC won't allow communication through the com ports
of the Mac. So, I am resorting to using XMDPW6 along with a telcom package on
the old Mickey. That's how I used to communicate with the Model 4 -- with
XMDPW6 through a null modem and FastTerm on the Model 4. Worked well then and
should work well now.

I know that 100Duet does for the Mac what LAPDOS does for MSDOS computers.
However, I wonder if it will run on a Classic II under System 7? I have found
that some older software packages, such as Multiplan, won't run on the Mac
Classic II.

I'm not too worried about it. I still have on of my 286s, but located in a
different location, so I will not always be able to fall back on LAPDOS.

TTYL.
