But you don't understand, the hot rod underground has hit squads that
go around enforcing this!!!! Zeesh, a Yuppie Rod!!!<G>
RE: Engine hop-ups; repeat after me: Ar-dun, Ar-dun, Ar-dun, Ar-....
While a set of the original heads are probably worth the national debt, I heard
somewhere that someone is making new "repro" versions.
RE: Car computers; there are several performance monitoring units on
the market that either hard mount to/in the dash, or stick to the
window/windshield with suction cups, but I've only seen these in Muscle Car
applications. I've recently seen a unit for motorcycles. I've never seen a
personal computer mounted in a car.
Since you insist on building this Yuppie Rod, I think an M100 or T102,
or even a T200 for that matter, mounted to an arm from the dash, would be in
keeping with the theme and definitely unique. You might set up the arm with a
"ball press" lock so that you can swing it up under the dash when not in use. I
would definitely get a "sacraficial" unit since the sun will beat down on it in
the summer, but a fully working personal computer (particularly wired to
Tandy's CT-301 cellular phone) in a street rod will definitely be an attention
getter!!!
As far as not much use for a computer in car, are you not a computer
consultant? That's the kind of unique angle mags look for. Pretty/neato cars
are dime a dozen.
