Hi Ron. I'm replying to your message on The Dock bbs. No need to apologise
for using The Dock bbs or even the Club 100 bbs to test modems. No problems
and no extra work involved on this end. In fact, I was probably sleeping while
all that was going on ... and I got a good sleep, too, thank you! :)

In replying to your message, I thought I'd make a public comment on the loss of
the faster modems on the Club 100 bbs.

Due to the "problems" associated with the various sites we had for The Dock
bbs, coupled with the loss of income and "low" bbs use, we decided to cut out
all unnecessary expenses. And, since the Club 100 bbs's use is mainly used by
owls in the evening, there is absolutely no reason for 4 lines. Two are plenty
... and those must be easily accessed by owls. (*)

We moved The Dock bbs back into the Club 100 lab, where it will stay for the
rest of its life. The 510-939-1366 and 1367 numbers go into The Dock bbs, now,
as does the 510-932-8856 old Club 100 voice line (another low-use line); used
by the Internet e-mail "fetch" program.

(*) I have not, yet tested the 9600 baud modems that used to be on the 1366/67
lines for their use at 300 baud by owls. I guess that's the next, logical step
... yet one more darn thing to do! If, indeed, the 9600 baud modems will work
with owls, I will replace the 2400 baud modems, perminately.

Later... -Rick-
