Subj: SUBMITTING PREPARED MESSAGES
----- Hugh: I noted your message about not understanding how to submit prepared messages to this BBS. In the interest of all who reads this message, I'll cover the subject. Let's take it in steps: 1) Prepare your message before coming online. Go back through your message and make absolutely sure that any blank lines separating paragraphs have a least 1 space character before the <enter>, i.e., hit your spacebar once before hitting <enter>. Also make sure that any item list or program code list that you wish to remain in list (vertical) format has a space character before each item of the list. Lastly, at the very end of your message, have a last line that just contains an <enter> with "no" space character preceeding. This last line will end your message and return control to the host. 2) Come online and fill out a (P)ost questionair, i.e., who is your message for, and what is the subject? After entering the above and hitting <enter> you will be asked, "Submit prepared msg text (y/n)" wherein you respond with Y for yes. Next, you will be presented with a protocol list. Stock Model T users use protocol number 3. In other words, just hit your 3 key. The host is now open to receive your prepared text. 3) Tap your <f3> Send function key, respond with the name of the file containing your message and hit <enter>. Your Model T will also ask you for width. Just hit <enter> in responce to this prompt. At this point, your message will start sending. 4) When your message finally sends, assuming there are no errors (i.e., wherein your forgot to detail a space character on a blank line--a typical error--wherein you must <shift><break> to abort your send, log off and correct the error), you will be presented with the host's edit line. Your final action will be to select S to Save your message to the online messge base. That's it. Four simple steps. I suggest you capture this message, study it, then give it a shot. You can not hurt anything or anyone by trying; even of you totally screw up. After all, this is just a computer. I am sure, however, that you will probably be successful on your first attempt. Hope this helps... -Rick-
