Subj: NO ROOM!

Here's a good one for you, Robert. I'm attempting to make a disk copy of
Romulus Chess for the Model 200. The CHESS.CO program comes on tape. It's
16648 bytes long (CHESS.CO,44328,56000,44328). I can load it into himem from
tape and run it via CALL 44328 but do not have enough room to do a SAVEM to the
menu.

One solution is to enable the DOS-ON feature of TS-DOS for the Model 200 and do
a SAVEM"0:filname.co",top,end,exe. This would create the .CO file on a disk
which, in turn, could be loaded back into RAM or transferred to a DOS disk but
then what? There's still not enough room to have the file in the menu "and" in
himem at the same time. Of course, one soultion would be to use the DOS-ON
feature of TS-DOS to LOADM"0:filename.CO",top,end,exe to bring it into RAM,
then simply call it. But, what if the Model 200 person does not have a TPDD or
TPDD2 or TS-DOS? What then? Furthermore, how could we place this program
online in loader form for downloading? The loader, alone, would be larger than
a stock Model 200's RAM.

We need a utility that will handle large .CO files on a Model 200, or on any
model, if we're going to start archiving all the great laptop programs in the
world. Any suggestions? I looked through the library and did not find the
answer. Perhaps our "friend" Paul G.'s programs will help. Any ideas? Hmmm?
