--- Marty ... happy new year... To your questions... > Is it the same as an NEC 8201a I don't have an 8300 on hand but our NEC owners/members tell me that the 8300 will emulate the 8201 just fine. > Does it have an internal modem As far as I know, the NEC-series did not come with an internal modem attached. One could be added--I don't have one--or one could be attached externally to the RS232C port--any modem should do. > Proper use of the second bank No habla "proper." > etc. No habla "etc." > I guess what I need is either a manual or your "Quick Reference Booklet" I never did get around to building a QRC and none of the folks I taked with, over all these years, every got around to building one, either ... such is life in Model T-land > Are full manuals available? I believe I might have a full set available. Check out the following listings, here online. Select (T)op menu, (2)ForSaleAds, (R)ead ads, listings 1, 2, and 4 ... in 4, choose (2)The list. > If the NECs have internal modems how much are the cables? That depends on the connector. If an internal modem is attached, then I believe the port is a standard RJ11-6 with 4 active. If so, then the cable you need is already connected to your telephone or computer's modem. :) If the connector is the same as the Model 100/102/200 then I build them for $16 each. --- Some helpful hints: I noted that your message had the following list... Thanks, Marty marty7@halcyon.com 70564,3170 ...but, upon playback, it came across as... Thanks, Marty marty7@halcyon.com 70564,3170 This is called wrap-around. Wrap around is automatic unless you stop it via a space character before each line you don't want wrapped onto the end of the previous line. Also, to make a blank line to separate paragraphs, simply add a space character before hitting <enter> on a blank line. These little tricks will make your e-mail more readable and make a better impression on your reader. I also noted that your uploaded message contained 40 character lines but on playback then wrapped okay. Sure, that looks okay on playback, but when uploading, don't dictate a line length--just let'er fly by hitting <enter> in response to the "Width?" prompt. --- Again, these are just helpful hints to a fellow Model T friend. At your service... -Rick-
