From: ANTON WALRAVEN To: RICK LOPES Subj: REPLY TO MSG# 4462 Hello Rick, Glad you found my reply to your message, in spite of my misspelling your last name (sorry about that!). I'm also glad to hear that the IIC is still doing fine. This may be another characteristic of orphan computers: to be found useful long after their planned obsolescence. I remember hearing about an auction for antique computers (in New York, about 15 years ago), these being 5 year old mainframes to be used as interior decoration by the real aficionados and technically inclined yuppies. On the other hand, I've noticed that there definitely is a market for famous old cars and photo cameras, so why not for vintage portable computers? If you look at the prices commanded by old rangefinder camera's, like the Leica F models, they have simply kept their value, and are even going up. So my advice is: keep hold of your early Apple and Tandy computers, they might well become collector items! Take care now, Anton Walraven
