Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6256 (QUESTION ON VIEW80 IN CATALOG)

Hi Paul. I noticed your message this morning. You had deleted it but within
it was a very good question that needs repeating. Here it is:

 > But one thing I'm not clear on: does Lapdos permit one to insert a TPPD2
disk _into_ a 3.5" PC floppy drive, and then read it _in DOS_, controlling it
from the PC?

The answer is "no!" But I'll tell you, if such an animal existed it would be
the hit of the town. Everyone would get it. The reason you can not read a
TPDD or TPD2 disk directly when inserted into a MS-DOS computer drive has
everyting to do with the "format" adopted by the TPDD/TPDD2 manufacture
[Brother Corp]. Truse me: A lot of very bright people have tried and failed.

Lapdos II, as far as I know, is the only program capable of allowing a MS-DOS
computer to read/write TPDD/TPDD2 disk drives in the same manner used by a
Model "T", i.e. connect the TPDD/TPDD2 to the com port and read/write the media
in the drive.

End of story...

PS: So you thought you could fool the ole sysop, eh?
