will take some time to figure out: In my hell-bent excitement to turn the
floppy drive on and off with the CASS relay, I forgot the minor detail that
BASIC doesn't know about the TPDD unless you have the disk-video interface
(DVI). Poop. My real goal was to have a mass-storage device that didn't
require a human to turn it on and off during data dumps. I guess the ol'
cassette, used the way RS intended, would work, though I'd have to go buy it.
This assumes that it's OK to leave the record and play buttons pressed for a
week(!).
For now I think I'll fall back on my original technique of "milking" the data
file to disk manually. Ultimately the thing that needs to be done is to write
a floppy driver that's accessible from BASIC. Has someone already done this?
I may have missed it in the library. A floppy driver and my humble hardware
hack would do the trick. But for now it's back to the old on/off switch.
Hmph!
