Just had to jump in, here, regarding lapdos. Yes, lapdos is a dos program,
i.e., LAP.EXE. Lapdos was originally conceived as a TPDD access program via
the serial port. And in fact, LapDOS II is just that. However, LapDOS II
includes a program called LOADER.COM used to pump a 1686 byte file called,
LAPDOS.BA, into the laptop. LAPDOS.BA emmulates a TPDD on the laptop.
LAPDOS.BA is actually a loader and jump-start program. It loads m/l code into
the LCD buffer then jumps to the starting address of the code. Of course, the
above is my view of its functions. I'm sure you have better terms for what
it's doing and how it actually does it. In short, LAPDOS.BA turns the laptop
into a TPDD, ready for access by the LAP.EXE program running on a dos machine.
