Dear Rick,
An MIT friend of mine, an electronics theory whiz, always made a point of
inserting a total blooper error near the beginning of any pulic presentation.
That way he would have one of two things: 1) An audience that would break the
ice by not feeling shy asbout asking questions, or 2) knowledge that the
audience was totalie zomboid. It was soooo funny to go to a lectu;re where a
bunch of high-powered professors were3 present (this guy was a grad student),
and this blooper would go by, and all you would see was totally glazed eyes.
What do you expect at 4:00 in the afternoon? Is that how your classes are,
Mssr. Hanson? totally NEW.
I don't see the problem with the CLENUP.BA
  0 CLEAR0,MAXRAM:MAXFILES=1:NEW
True it both clears the unsaved BASIC buffer _and_ deactivates itself as the
active program. But try it--CLENUP.BA is still on the menu to use again.
Touche'.
You get the " by plussing a CHR$(34)
  KEY2,"LOAD"+CHR$(34)
  KEY2,"RUN"+CHR$(34)+"CLEAN"
Don't make it too easy! Sometimes you might regret losing your unsaved BASIC
program or you might have some .CO installed that is running off the timer hook
or something, so running the cleanup program would be cold city. I'd never
want to have it as a menu program, much less an F-key. Better in my thinking
to print a little lable to paste to the bottom of the computer (one of those
Club100 labels).
TO FREE UP MEMORY TYPE THE FOLLOWING IN BASIC:
CLEAR0,MAXRAM frees up (clears) the PASTE buffer and frees up space
reserved for running .CO programs
MAXFILES=1 frees up space used to store files on input and output
NEW frees up space used by your unsaved BASIC program
It takes deliberate actions to type the commands.
