Hi, Mike,

Well, takes some of us longer than others... hope this info is worth the wait!

Here's a list of the most useful (to me) Model 100/102 programs I've tried so
far that don't require any optional ROMs:

From the Telecom catalog-
 TELKEY.BA

TOGGLE.BA - This one I consider essential, especially at 300 baud. If you
also use TELKEY, load it first, then load TOGGLE. You'll only get TELKEY's
file listing function, but can still use TOGGLE's faster no-scroll feature.

LOGON.BA - I like this one better than DIAL or DIALER.

From the Utilities catalog-

DO2BA.100 - The #1 gotta-have-it. Fast conversion of BASIC programs from
ASCII to BA format without hogging extra memory.

If you're gonna keep more than one .CO file at a time in RAM you're gonna need
a method to keep 'em from clashing and crashing-

CHANGE.BA - Lets you run MOST (but not all) machine code programs without
having to preset addresses. It has many other nifty features that take some
experience to appreciate.

WARM.BA - Let's you pre-assign .CO addresses to prevent crashes, and then run
those programs by pressing a function key. Small, nifty and easily modified -
I use it often when running related .CO programs.

From the Drives catalog-

 DSKMGR.100 - If you've got a TPDD1 it's much better than FLOPPY.CO.

 TD1DIR.BA & TD2DIR.BA - Check the Club 100 library's description of these.
They're definitely worth downloading.

 From the Programming catalog-

PACKER.BA - At nearly 12 K this is one BIG program! But nothing else is
faster at compressing other BASIC programs. No, they won't run noticeably
faster, but they'll be much smaller, which is what counts with a 32 K machine!

 From the Text catalog-

PACK.100 - The #2 gotta-have-it, at least in my book. Compresses any kind of
file up to 50% for archiving. You can't directly access this kind of PACKed
file, so don't confuse it with a PACKERed file, which can be run as usual. But
it allows you to store up to double the normal amount in RAM. When I've got
more time I'll send you more detailed info, including how I use this via
WARM.BA.

SORTLD.BA - This creates SORT.CO, the fastest and smallest (but not the most
flexible) data-sort program I've found yet.

From the UPLOADS menu-

SIDKIK.BA - My #3 gotta-have-it. A terrific emulation of MS-DOS's Sidekick.
Does everything ADDRSS and SCHEDL do, plus much more, and much better and
faster! Read my help file, SIDKIK.DOC, for more info.

MAXMAX.BA - I wrote this one to let me double check several things, such as
where High Memory is set (when running .CO programs), etc. It lets you Clear
HIMEM to avoid crashes with other .CO programs, or leave HIMEM as is.

Notably absent from this list are suggestions for text and print formatting
programs, which you'll almost certainly need to use your Model 100/102 as a
flexible and versatile word processor. However, because I use Ultimate ROM II
I've never experimented with any of those Text programs. Perhaps another Club
member can help you here.

Good luck, Mike. I hope this helps.
