Derwood, Saw your questions a few days ago and I think these programs might hold the information you seek.....assuming we're talking Model 100: Studying the directory: =================================== 5 print "himem:";himem 7 print "maxram:";maxram 10 for i= 63842 to 64138 step 11 12 printusing"### ";peek(i); 14 for x = 3 to 10 16 print chr$(peek(i+x)); 18 next x 20 a= peek(i+1) + peek(i+2)*256 22 print,a 24 next i This should display the 19 files and the hidden files in the machine's RAM and the starting address of each....wish I could remember what the first number represents. Disable [SHIFT]-[BREAK] ================================= 1 poke 63056,128 2 on error goto 7 3 beep:cls:print@160,"PassLetter Required" 4 a$=inkey$:if a$="" then 4 5 if a$ <> "P" then poweroff, resume :goto 3 6 poke 63056,0:menu 7 resume 2 Running the above will force you to enter the letter P. Otherwise the power is shut off and the same message will face you when you power up again. Using the RESET button on the back will defeat the program. But you can see that the address 63056 has contrl of "seeing" the [SHIFT]-[BREAK] key. Have fun with these tech help programs. They should not cause cold starts, but don't blame me if they do.......back up at least as often as you vote. --dB
