Subj: REPLY TO MSG #1171 (BACKGROUND ALARM)

The early Mac and even the current ones are not "true" multi-tasking" because
one one program is accessed the other is placed on stand-by.  You can only have
one "active window" at any one time while true multi-tasking would allow
several to be running concurrently.
