I think you captured the essence of the market, Rick. True, users needs are
not as quick as technology advancements, nor are individual "excess" funds.
Business funds, and business needs are different. The power built into our
older micros is still there; still serving individual needs.

I am encouraged by the feelings and desires from laptop users to get more from
their laptop resources. The need for 3rd party support is actually greater
then ever. And, it's the little things that count. For instance: I get a few
calls every week from folks who have over written a file, or cold started their
computer, or forgot how to start a program, or want to get started with using
TEXT (yes, you read that right... TEXT! for heaven's sake), or want to use
TELCOM for the first time, etc. This "is" where personal computing "is" for a
lot of folks. It's like being back in 1983 over and over again. Is this good?
Yes!

If you're coming to the meeting next Saturday, let's take a moment and rasie
the issue of "essentials" regarding use of computers serving everyday needs.
Let's see what comes of this discussion. -Rick-
