I spent two years laid up with a back injury during which time I spent a lot of time working upside down on a Model 100. I am still an active user and member. I have worked with a number of law students, both visually impaired and dyslexic, adapting computer equipment to their needs quite successfully. There is a lot, such as the Model 100, that can be done inexpensively and low-tech. You should know that there is a version of Wordperfect for the PC Junior which was set up to use a 40 character by 12 line screen. This results in a character four times normal PC size. No modification necessary. All you need is a PC Junior or PC clone with color graphics. You don't even need a color monitor, a composite a composite monochrome monitor off an old Apple II or similar Neanderthal computer will do just fine. One disk drive is enough. It is file compatible with Wordperfect 4.2. Later versions of Wordperfect i include conversions to and from 4.2 files. I would suggest forgetting about trying to edit a book on the Model 100. Get a cheapo clone and use the Model 100 for what it was intended, on the road composing. Most publishers appreciate getting material on disk in Wordperfect or similar format anyway. Let me know if I can be of assistance. You can contact me here or call me at home at 510-548-3107. Hey folks, let's help this guy out. Anyone out there got a PC Junior gathering dust? I've got some spare parts.
