Earl: Actually, your questions are worth bring into the conference for group
discussion. First off, thanks for the compliment. I do my best to serve.

2400 baud operation on a Model 200 is, indeed, a bit flakie. There is little
you can actually due. The fault--which is not really a fault at all--is that
the LCD is a 1200 baud device. But hey, that's better then the Model 100 and
102's LCD at 600 baud. To M100/102 folks, 1200 baud is iffie! The quickest
solution and recommendation is stick to 1200 baud. Other, perhaps, may have
other suggestions.

Okay, so you now want to transfer files to and from your 2 Model 200's via the
CompLink cable you purchased from me. No problem. You can use TELCOM (one in
answer mode and one in originate mode -- see David Lien's book, and Model 200
systems manual for stat settings) or you can transfer .DO's from within the .DO
files on both end, or you can transfer .BA's from within BASIC on both end.
Let's start with .DO files. They're the fastest.

Let's say you have a file called NOTE.DO on computer #1 and want it on computer
#2. Go into the NOTE.DO file on computer #1. On computer #2, create an empty
NOTE.DO file and be in it. Next, on computer #2, tap your <f2> function key,
respond with COM:98N1ENN <enter>. On computer #1, tap your <f3> function key,
respond with COM:98N1ENN <enter>. Don't blink! Your file will transfer at
19200 baud between the two.

The same procedure holds true for transferring .BA files. Again, we have a
file called GAME.BA on computer #1 and want to transfer it to computer #2.
First, go into BASIC on computer #2, tap the <f2> function key LOAD " and enter
COM:58N1ENN (we're going to have to go a bit slower since the BASIC interpreter
will be doing its thing as the code comes in--others will dissagree with me on
this point, however) and hit <entr>. On computer #1, enter BASIC and load your
.BA file. LOAD"GAME.BA<enter>. At the OK prompt, tap your <f3> function key
SAVE " and enter COM:58N1ENN and hit <enter>. Wait. At the OK prompt on
computer #2, tap your <f3> function key SAVE " and enter GAME and hit <enter>
to save the un-saved BASIC program to a .BA file.

In both these cases, you will actually move files a lot faster and easier then
going through TELCOM. Besides, .BA files will not move through TELCOM, only
.DO.

For .CO file transfers please check out programming in the library. I believe
there was one in there for transferring .CO files.

Hope this helps... -Rick-
