Know what you mean about battery life. The Model T's are tops there. Someone
made me a better deal so I returned the Sharp and bought an ASt 386SX/20 with
60MB harddrive and 2MB of RAM. I used Stacker to kick the hard drive up to
120MB and intend to up the RAM by 4MB (5MB total since I have to remove one of
the SIMM modules). To combat the low battery life (3 hours) I'm going to buy an
extra pack or two and work on designing a gell-cell pack for it. Hassle there
is that the plug has about 8 pins in it as opposed to the standard plug like
the Model T's use. I think I can get tech support to help me out. They're VERY
friendly people at AST.

To combat the extra weight of this new system and the extra batteries I'm
getting back to the gym and working out with notebook and battery pack shaped
weights. :)

The recharge time is about 3 hours on the normal pack (car adapter available
and possibly solar) but I think I can get Model T type life off a 1.5 pound
gell cell (18+ hours). If it works out right I may make two or three packs,
which should last me a bit.
