Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6882 (DOWNLOAD PROBLEM)

Regarding your question about downloading LAPTAP.EXE. First ... AND VERY
IMPORTANTLY ... this is a MS-DOS-based program. It's "compiled" in 8088 code
and should ONLY be downloaded from a MS-DOS computer via YMODEM or ZMODEM
protocol.

Sequence of events...

 Select the (E)ME System list...
Let it pass to the bottom or break the list with "S"
 Enter LAPTAP.EXE and hit <enter>
...a list of protocols will be presented
 Choose YMODEM (as an example)

Immediately, this host will indicate that it is waiting for a signal to start
sending. Your next move is to tell your terminal program to receive the file
via the same protocol.

Note: If you set the file transfer default of your terminal program to ZMODEM,
then if you choose ZMODEM vs. YMODEM, your terminal program will
"automatically" begin file downloading. ZMODEM is very nice for this reason,
alone. ZMODEM is also very nice for other technical reasons.

Good luck... -Rick-
