John, I, too, enjoyed your comments about tape storage. My TPDD2 has taken sick, and not being able to afford a replacement, I dug out my CCR-82 that came with my Model 100 when I bought it used many years ago. Actually, I've come to enjoy tape storage, too. Had a little trouble finding tapes, but a local dealer had some on the back shelf he let me have for 50 cents each! And the model 82 tape deck is quite small, and very nicely constructed. Like you say, it also plays regular tapes, so is handy to have when travelling. It also turned out my Model 100 and tape deck came with a copy of FAST(tm), a cassette storage utility that stores data on tape about 2-3 x faster than normal, and provides a verify utility as well. This program is still available for around $19... I ran across a review in old issue of Portable 100 that gave it good marks. I even suggested to the guy distributing it now that he contact Rick about possibly marketing it through the Club here. (Have you heard from him, Rick? His name is Mel Zwillenberg.) Thanks again for your post... I would agree with you heartily! Regards, ... Paul
