I started Club 100 in 1983, dedicating this online service (started in 1979) to club support. Almost immediately the club's direction was pointed at mail order support. Club 100 advertised monthly in Portable 100, PCM, 80 Mirco, Computer News 80, Boston Computer Societ's Lap Gazette, Presstime, Editor & Publisher, and others. Over the years, our membership grew to several thousand world wide. We held monthly meetings during the hay days of the 80's, did computer shows and did beta testing for most all the major 3rd party developers. In Feb 1990, Traveling Software turned over all its Model "T" product line to Club 100 for us to continue. Others followed. Club gross sales in the early 90's topped $100,000 annually. In 1996, Cyberlife on the Discovery Channel did a segment on Club 100 and the Model 100 computer and, get this, they just contacted me again (two days ago) about another round. The club also has a fully functional web site with two web masters--myself and Roger Merchberger. Okay... now you know the score. Yes, it's an ego thing but... and this is a big but... I personally like serving and being in the background, applauding the efforts of others. I enjoy this club as much as the next guy and strive to make sure it continues. I firmly believe that Model "T" computing is special in today's world, and that Model "T" users ride the wave of this technology and design. Like the old Ford Model "T" automobile, the Model "T" computer is one of a kind, dependable and still useful today. At your service... -Rick-
