Subj: REPLY TO MSG #6112 (TAPE RECOVERY TECHNIQUES)

Thanks, Rick,

Well, luckily I know the name of the file I am looking for, and I actually had
the wit to label my cassette tape this time! Nevertheless, the T tells me "SKIP
filename" even though the file name it says it is skipping is the one I know I
want. Grrrr.

Thanks for checking on me, though, you never know!

And the test save and reload was on the same physical tape I'm having trouble
with... except on side B of the tape. So maybe side A has some defective
coating or wrinkled edge or... who knows.

Well, Rick, thanks for the offer to retrieve the files but it's not really
worth your time. I am mainly trying to rescuscitate my tape system because of
my PDD2 failure. I do plan to keep the CCR-82 and my programs on tape however,
just as a backup system.

Which brings us back to the TPDD2 again... yes, do let me know if you run
across one in your inventory! (I did run into a guy on CompuServe who is
asking a buddy of his about my disk drive, however, so maybe I have one last
chance to revive it.)

Regards, and thanks again for your help,

... Paul
