John: I'm responding to your request for 100duet. I sent this to you via
Internet as well but thought I'd post it, somewhat edited, for the Club 100 BBS
gang.

Here's the story:

MacDOS II became 100duet when it's author bought back the rights from Traveling
Software to continue the product line (circa 1990). He upgraded the software
for use with System 7, sold packages to Tandy/Radio Shack and generally pushed
the software a few more years.

Late in 1993/94 he discontinued the duet line (100duet and WPduet) due to lack
of sales (almost none). Couple this with the fact that, once again, Apple
Corp. changed their hardware platforms and OS forcing application software
authors to reengineer their entire line, and it just was not worth the effort.

I had a few packages on the shelf for a long time, selling about 1 every 4 to 5
months until they were all sold out. When the complete packages sold out, I
soll a few here and there (disk and manual from the author) with cables I would
buy locally. In the end, all the changes to Apple Mac's and the lack of a
dependable cable source, made me quit the line as well.

Bottom line: The Apple Mac is a dead-end machine for the future. Yes, it is a
very nice machine but it commands less than 3% of the market ... and even that
is shrinking. I have no Apple-based products in this lab/office, do not expect
to get any, and will reject any that come my way. However, the Club 100 BBS is
available for anyone selling Model "T's" and accessories. Perhaps a 100duet
will one day appear. Keep checking.

I suggest you go back to transferring file the old way. I cover this procedure
in THE WHOLE ENCHILADA document entitled, "Computer-to-Comoputer File
Transfers. THE WHOLE ENCHILADA document series is listed in my new catalog.

All the best to you and yours from me and mine for the ThanksGiving holidays.

At your service ... -Rick-
