Subj: PRINTER COMPAT

I recently acquired a Model u-92 used printer, in exchange for some
programing I provided. After reading the 'Personal printer user's manual' I
found that my parallel centronix ribbon cable for my existing printer, was the
same as the IBM PC ref: page D-4 & D-5. So I set all the DIP's as indicated. I
have a Tandy Model 100 driving a Tandy Model 120 printer. I am sorry to say:
The OKIDATA u92 printed every thing in capital letters without any spaces
between words and absolutely no numerics, and at one time, I had written:- ' 3
PM ' (time), the number did not appear, but the fond was changed to wide
lettering. I am retired (74 yrs) and would love to have the quality of this
OKIDATA printer for my use. But am afraid that either one of the ROM's are
defective or that the former owner, who used it with a Apple computer, rewired
something. He had a circuit board that he removed, saying that I did not need
it. Would you kindly respond to my problem. I will have to repair my printer
myself, or bury it in sorrow...Frank J. Henze...
