Excellent question, John. In fact, I've received a rash of similar questions
and concerns reciently. What should you choose? What computer? What programs?
Etc.

1) Go to the store and look at what's available.

2) Sit quietly at home or your office and annotate your computing needs. Note:
I did not say "computer needs," I said "computing needs." Big difference!!!
Big, big, big!!!

3) Match your computing needs to that technology available, and affordable, at
that time and place in history inwhich you live. Note: There ain't no perfect!
I know... poor sentence... but get the impact.

4) Buy it. Use it. Then start planning for your future, i.e., go back to step
1.
