Subj: RAMDISK MEMORY USAGE

Hi, Drew,
Have you noticed something interesting about the way the memory in the
RAMdisk of the Booster Pak is used?
Memory is divided into 1,024-byte segments for each file of that size or
fraction thereof. Eg: files of 297, 368 or 619 bytes each subtract 1,024 bytes
from the total free in RAMdisk; a 1,556-byte file takes up 2,048 bytes (double
1,204), and so on.
However, Workspace files subtract only their actual amount from the total
free.
Any idea why RAMdisk memory is utilized this way?
Does extRAM or RAMPACK utilize memory this way?
