David: I more than understand the problems you're having. First off, Nuge is
correct about 486 computers. In fact, if Nuge didn't say it, I would have been
the first one to clue into the facts of 486's. There are work arounds, though.
First, boot your 486 from a boot disk, rather than the harddisk. Also, if it's
possible on yours, toggle your speed to its lowest level. Last, when using
file transfer programs, like Lapdos, etc., move files to and from a floppy vs.
your harddisk. That's all I have to say about the subject.

Now, regarding your questions about making everything work together on the
Model T side: I see by your message that you, indeed, have a wide variety of
stuff. Let me be blunt. Everything is "not" going to work together, so don't
try. What you want to do is find configurations that work good enough for you
to trust using. Furthermore, you might consider setting up different Madel T's
to do different tasks; like having task-oriented appliances.

Speaking of using: It's nice to have all that nifty stuff but what in heaven's
name are you doing with it? Is it paying you back, i.e., does it help you with
your business; your life; your aspiration? Or, are you still just playing
around, collecting all the stuff, and for some strange reason, expecting it to
all magically work together?

Hey, someone had to say it, so it might as well be me. Hope this helps...
