Well, Rick, I pulled the keyboard bands out of the Model 100 at your suggestion. Thank you very much for suggesting this. I wrote a term paper on that particular Model 100 today since the keyboard is now much more comfortable. I'm discovering anew how nice it is to use the Model 100 to do my primary text editing and then uploading the file to a desktop computer for formatting and printing. When I used DeskMate on my Model 4 as the primary word processor, I could do that, since DeskMate would import ASCII files. When I moved to LeScript, I could no longer do this, since LeScript doesn't do a good job importing ASCII text. After I moved to MSDOS, I used the MSDOS version of LeScript, so I still didn't use a Model 100 for primary text entry. After I moved to WordPerfect, I found what a good job it does importing the Model 100's text files. However, it has taken me several months to get "into the swing" of doing this again. Now, what a pleasure. A small computer that I can have on the desktop along with the books that I am using as source material. A lot easier than trying to use a big, honking desktop and holding the source books in my lap or some other awkward place. TTYL.
