Yes indeed. Education is a big investment in both time and money and ultimate
direction; which in turn relates to time amd money. Managing your education as
a business makes sense as an adult. However, I have yet to see a school give
student orientation classes covering just "how" to do personal education as a
business. In fact, they [schools and teacher] do not see students as clients,
nor do they feel quality obligations, i.e., if the information and skills they
present are not correct then they are open for suit, or at the very least,
monitary compensation. On the other hand, adult student all too often do not
take their role as business person serious and slip back into their old high
school ways. Generally speaking, adult education is pretty sad in this
country. Finally, I have thought along these lines for some time, being an
adult educator for 10 years. I've often thought that it's about time to put
together a program that teaches/guides adult learners how to approach education
as a business. I would really enjoy putting together and presenting such a
program. I honestly feel it would benefit everyone. -Rick-
