The minimal definition for true portable laptop is:

  • Light-weight
  • General purpose
  • At least 15 hours battery life on a charge with normal use
  • Instant or near-instant ON/OFF
  • No "heat issues"
  • UI navigation is easy and efficient without a mouse

The ideal laptop:

  • Off-the-shelf batteries
  • Easy access to built-in programming language
  • No "heat" issues
  • Full-travel keyboard
